For the last week I've been fighting the stomach flu on and off. Then last Thursday I was hit hard. Spent the whole weekend and yesterday in bed. It was horrible, fluids coming out on both ends... sounds gross but true.

Well, since I couldn't hold anything in for a couple of days, now that I started to eat my normal meal again, I putting on pounds like crazy... why is that?

I hope it all falls off soon.

I really truely feel for you. My oldest kid got sick last Tuesday with it, my youngest on Thursday, I had it Sunday and my middle kid had it last night. Hubby is the only not to have it so far. I have been dealing with it for a week now. I was the only one that had the runs with it though which Im glad for because I dont want to have to clean that up after 3 kids. It was completely worn me out. Sunday I spent the whole day holed up in my room away from the entire family although I wont be surprised if I get it again since I am the one to take care of the kids when they get it.

  • Your body may have gone into starvation mode and slowed your metabolism and now that your eating healthy amounts again your body is saving it just in case. Eventually you will even back out and your metabolism will return to normal. Just make sure your completely healthy before putting your body under any duress such as exercise and incorporate fruits and veggies to up your immune system to help prevent future sickness. Hope you feel better and good luck!
  • Most of what you lost was water weight. When you have the flu and your not eating your body is releasing other fluids which is why we become dehydrated. I had the flu a few weeks ago and lost 7 pounds in one day. I did gain back 4 of the 7, however it broke my plateau. I hope you and your family feel better soon.
