Boo. Gained weight after a nice beginning of losing a pound

Lost a pound this week earlier - weighed myself twice, over two days to be sure. Was under my calorie limit every day by 10% or so. Exercised for 20 minutes 5 of the 7 days. Still, I ended up gaining 2 pounds. If it's water, that's a lot of water (half a gallon, if there's 7.5 pounds per gallon.)
I'm not discouraged, but I'm puzzled...

It looks like you're going way, way over on sodium and aren't eating all of your exercise calories or drinking enough water. Eat less processed food, more fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, lean meats and low fat dairy and make sure you drink at least 8 glasses of water, if not more, every day. The weight you gained is most likely water retention from all the sodium and not enough water.0

You lose weight easy at first. This is mostly due to losing water weight. When your body settles in the weight loss becomes a lot slower and were a lot of people stop due to frustration. This happens to everyone and you become happy w/the loss of a pound a week. Stop weighing yourself daily, this can get you discouraged. Only weigh yourself once a week at the same time of day for you weigh-ins.0

Looking at your diary you should be eating more and probably concentrating on keeping your sodium down. These two things can make your weight fluctuate quite a bit.
For men the general guide line is 1500 calories+ Anything burned in exercise. Try bumping your calories up to this most of the days of the week (you can still have a day or two under, but for most of your days, you should reaching at least 1500 NET calories), and watching your sodium 3-4 days before your weigh in. You seem to do ok on your sodium early in the week but save splurges for the weekend (which makes sense). These splurges, like Taco Bell, fit in your cals but have a high amount of sodium which is likely causing a water retention. Maybe make your Weigh Ins on Wednesdays so you will get a more consistent reading?
Either way it appears temporary. Just remember- lower calories isn't always better. Stay in a healthy range!0 -

Processed foods are just so convenient, and yet I have noticed the sodium. So I will try to find a way to get unprocessed foods on the way to work. (It's just so much easier to have something's that ready-to-go in the morning rather than having to prepare something.)
Will look to drink more water, too.0 -
I've actually had great success making veggies my go-to nibble snacks- grape/cherry tomatos are currently my faves, but a baggie of snow peas or a sliced up green/red pepper is awesome too! You can have with a little light ranch, or (my preference) Sabra makes mini hummus cups. Easy to pack, not big, surprisingly sturdy (I keep a sandwich baggie of tomatos in my softball bag when we have practice and it holds up).

Some things that can make it easier are making your lunch the night before, preparing meals ahead of time on the weekends, prepping meals so they're ready to pop into the oven as soon as you get home, etc. And drinking water can be easier if you drink from a sports bottle. Mine holds 20oz, so for every two I drink I get the equivalent of 5 glasses of water. I don't feel like I have to chug a glass of water, I just take a drink whenever I'm thirsty, usually every few minutes.0 -
the choice of convinience over healthy food is the main reason so many people are overweight these days. It will always be more convinient to pick up fast food then to cook a chicken breast and some brocolli. Don`t base your food choice on what is easiest, rather base it on what is healtiest and invest the time you need to prepare the food to should be eating.0
