Hello!! My name is Alicia, and I am still new to MFP. I had a bad binge eating weekend, so I'm doing my best to set strict goals for myself. I hate the fact that you can change your weight and calories. (I have to keep myself changing them to suite my cravings.)
The sad thing is, I'm never "really" hungry. I just crave things and eat because I am bored. Working stead night shift makes it worse!!! It looks like a bunch of farm animals hanging around for food.. Grazing! No matter what floor you're on, you can find something terrible to eat. I try to bring health stuff like veggie and fruit trays to keep from grazing the junk food!! I'm looking for friends who have a MAJOR weight-loss goal like I do. Any advice, suggestions, ANYTHING will help me fight my war!!!

You can do this! We all can, if we stick together. We have to find our own strength and sometimes that is hard.
I'll send you a friend request. I think the more the merrier because the motivate and encourage you.

Hi Alicia! The first thing I can tell you is that I wouldn't set strict goals this week for a bad binge weekend. Start fresh! Today is a new day. If you start messing with your calories to make up for the past, you're going to get even more frustrated, feel hungrier and make bad choices. So begin like today is the first day of your calorie counting week and go on from here. It's great that you take healthy food with you, but in my opinion, there's got to be something on your tray that you're really going to like to eat. If it's chocolate, then factor in the chocolate calories . I've tried to lose weight many times before, but I always felt that to lose weight I had to DEPRIVE myself and fell extremely dissatisfied and hungry all the time. This time it's not like that. I CONTROL what I eat, but I don't deprive myself of anything. It might take me a little longer to get where I need to go, but at least I'll get there smiling  Good luck to ya!

Welcome to MFP...this is a great place place to find friends, motivation, and support.

Today is day 90 of my journey and I am down 46 pounds (though I have not updated my ticker yet). I have lots to lose and am here for the duration. I am on a plateau right now that has been lingering for a week. I understand the whole loving food thing and eating out of boredom. I have done that most of my life. But I came to a point in my life 90 days ago when I decided I can fight the boredom and I can't fight the fat. And I am here to say this works. It is mind over matter and you have to make the decision that it is the most important thing in your life. And I know if I can do this anyone else can too!

Feel free to add me if you would like. The more support you have the easier this journey is!

Well, I couldn't decide if I wanted to loose a pound a week or 2 pounds a week. I hate the fact that I can mess with that stupid calorie thing!!! If I'm not strict on myself, I won't do it. I need someone to yell at me or break my jaw so it's wired shut! LOL j/k
I do need the yelling though. My hubby is too nice to yell, and he doesn't have room to talk cuz he's overweight to!
I totally agree if we all stick together and keep up the WTG's and GJ's.. We will all do fine.
I didn't know that you could add friends like FB. My friends are all skinny, so I am in this alone!!
Well, sweatpea, she's a girl I work with!
Good luck everyone, and that you for all the encouragement!

Hi, good luck with journey. I still have 84lbs to go and I sometimes struggle, however I am learning to control the cravings and have water to fill me up which then stops me wanting to eat anything until my planned meal time. Having some good goal rewards are always good motivation and you can set them where you please (just don't make it to easy). Feel free to add me.

Well, then say 'hi' to your first not-skinny friend! I'm very good at yelling at people:devil: I've added you as my friend. If you accept and check in daily, I'll be able to see it and 'yell' if necessary, but once you've got into the swing of things here on MFP, I don't think you're gonna get much of that. Get going!
