I am not new to the MyFitnesspal...I have been a member for a few years ...and I love it......i lost a total for 55 pounds a little over 2 years ago...about 30 of it was prior to discovering the site...but i have found he site to be a greate resource for encouragement as well as a great tool...HOWEVER I am finding myself in a complete slump...I log on almost everyday...I log my calories maybe twice a week (and that may be an overstatement)....I have been logging on reading different threads hoping that I may read something that will "snap me out of my slump" So far no luck I have gained about 15 pounds back...and I am terrified of gaining anymore....I don't know why I find myself unable to do this...does anyone have any suggestions of how to get myself back on track ????

What got me to start taking it seriously was looking at how much I had gained over a 2 yr period and imaging the weight I would be at 5 yrs from now if I kept it up at that pace...it wasn't pretty.
Feel free to add me as a friend if ya need support or motivation.0 -
Are you exercising? It seems to help motivate me and gives me energy plus seeing the RESULTS keeps me going!!0

Try signing up for a new activity or exercise class. Lots of time the enthusiasm you get when you start something new helps a lot. It could be anything you don't already do as long as it is physical enough to count as a workout. Recently I added one Zumba class per week to my routine of kickboxing and strength intervals and it has me really stoked! I find I am more motivated in all of my workouts and more motivated to track my intake.0

Maybe you don't need this website?
You lost 30 pounds without it.. maybe go back to what you were doing before you started on here.0 -
start slow again .meaning if you just feel like logging and doing it once or twice a week that fine dont make any big promises to yourself. do this for about four weeks and see how you feel that what i did and that old familiar feeling of taking care of my health came back just take it day by day and everyday ask yourself how do i feel today? really this work and if it bad food your eating eliminate one by one each day or two take something out you know is not really helping your health or diet again no big promises to yourself just day by day hope i help some.0

I know it sounds too simple but what I would suggest is forcing yourself to log every day, or after every meal if you have to. For me it had to become a priority and whether I was in the mood or not I did it. The same with exercise and weighing in. Once I put all these peices together and I started seeing little results, it just all clicked. In the first month, also I joined a exercise challenge. I am pretty competitive so being able to challenge myself against others( even if the intention wasn't to be competitve on the board, it was in my head) made all the difference, I could go to the posts and let everyone know how my day of exercise was, what was happening with my body and I could hear how everyone else was having the same issues or successes that I was. Best of luck to you. Please feel free to add my if I can help support you too.0

I have been in a slump for about 3 weeks. Gained 2-3 pounds back. Then I did something really drastic-went bathing suit shopping....did the trick for me. I didn't buy any trigger foods and exercised already today!0

I lost 30 lbs 3 years ago and joined Livestrong (then The Daily Plate) 2 years ago. 5 months ago, I got burned out, went into a slump, didn't want to log, didn't care what I ate, but since I was teaching a minimum of 6 fitness classes a week, I figured I'd be fine. Well, come January, I was 10 pounds heavier :noway: But still, I was like "ehe".
Then in Feb, I went to Mexico and NONE of my clothes fit from summer last year!!! In addition, I got an announcement about my 20 year high school reunion in June and I decided I needed to do something. I took on running, signed up for a 5k with a group of friends, started MFP with some friends, and it was just what I needed to be remotivated. I beat my goal time at the race, I've lost 8 pounds so far and I feel great!!!
Do you have any friends that can join you? Help support/motivate you? Is there something new you'd like to try? Personal goals you'd like to achieve?
Hope you find YOUR motivation!!! Good luck! :flowerforyou:0 -
Thank you to everyone for your words of encouragement. I have decided to take a slower approach this time around...incorporate new healthy habits one day at a time. I bought a Garmin FR60 Sports Watch (With heartrate monitor and foot pod) and am going to set milestone goals. I signed up for another 5K on May 22. One day at a time...one step at a time 120 pounds...I'll get there0
