Hi, Does anyone have any input on this? Occassionally I will meet my calorie quota in the afternoon. I was wondering if it is okay to not eat anymore the rest of the day, (sometimes this could be at 3 in the afternoon), Or is it better for my metabolism to go a little over calories and have a healthy snack before bed. Sometimes exercie just isn't enough to bring my cals. down as far as they need to be.

I would try to not have all your calories so early. You will lose more weight if you eat smaller meals more frequently. If you go too far in between eating your body will start to store what you eat as fat because it feels like it will starve because it doesn't know when its going to eat again. So by eating small meals and snacks through out the day your body is getting constant replenishment and will not go into starvation mode which is counter-productive to weight loss. When I started out trying to lose weight I was not eating as frequently as I should and noticed little to no weight loss, but once I started eating more often and smaller meals the weight is coming off continuously now. GOOD LUCK!!!!0

I would say do not stop eating that early... it depends on how late you stay up really but I always find its easier for me to lose weight if I keep my metabolism going even if it puts me over my calorie intake for the day. You could always go for a walk or something to earn some extra calories or eat a salad with no dressing for dinner so you don't go way over your calorie goal.0

hmm second day that I find myself doing the same thing all my 1200 calories out the window from junk food and lots of coffee (finals time). I think I will have a cheese wedge and two tomatoes ...see if that carries me over this evening. I guess I would recommend not to eat just not to undo what you've worked so hard on until now - and if you eat to eat the lightest possible food with the smallest amount of calories. I'm not sure though that's just my personal preference others may think differently.0

Yea,normally I do eat small meals thru-out the day. But I ended up going to Red Lobster for lunch, and even tho I thought I made smart choices, broiled flounder, instead of deepfried, no dressing and ONLY 2 buns, I still logged 1000 cals for lunch. That's where my delima lies, even tho I exercised today, and will go for another walk tonight, that's alot of cals to make up.0
