It looks like you're making some good healthy choices. I would say you could eat a bit more and still lose weight. A glass of skim milk with breakfast, a handful of nuts for a snack. That could easily add 250-300 calories and get you up to a healthier calorie range. Good luck!0

honestly it looks good to me, your eating alot less then your suppose to but your not under 1000 at least. If you get the chance, talk to a doctor about how many calories they thing you should be intaking to lose 1-2 pounds a week.0

You are doing pretty good, but you might try to eat some more veggies and fruits and as the summer comes drink more and more water. I don't know if you have seen this site yet, but it helps you to check on how many calorie you need when you are working out.

Peanut butter would up your calories while adding to your protein...would be a good post-workout snack ;o) Maybe on an apple or just plain. You definitely have the wiggle room.0

I think you are doing really well, could stand to have a few more calories in your day though. Also, I really think that you need to drink a lot more water!
Sent you a friend request as well! Feel free to accept or deny - no harm done!

I reviewed your food and exercise diaries for the past few days. The recommended total SODIUM allowance is 1500 mg. per day for anyone. When you eat the prepared foods, the sodium intake levels are blown away with much too high numbers in that area.
You have developed a great plan for yourself that seems to be working well. If you can avoid RED MEATS almost entirely, you might do better. I'm not a fish meal lover so it's difficult for me to get enough fish meals. RECOMMENDATION: a minimum of FOUR FISH MEALS/week may help you do much better. Opt for white meat of chicken or turkey (NOT DELI MEATS). Deli meats are overloaded with sodium.
Watch those quickie cheap meals out if you ever shop at places like Costco. For example, a single Costco Polish dog without condiments is over 1700 mg. of sodium. For me, that's a mind-blower.
See if you can cut back on your cheese intake and sweets. I know that's difficult if your a cheese lover (as I am too). Try the Laughing Cow light wedges instead of the Baby Bel for example.
EXERCISE: Try looking at what physical activities that you would consider fun to do that would help you burn more calories. Right now, you're doing things that tone the muscles but don't burn a lot of calories. Do you like to dance and shake that booty? Try getting a set of the lesser expensive ZUMBA DVDs (I got a great set of 4 on Amazon for a good price). Bob Harper's POWER WALK DVD is less than $10.00 at most Walmart stores. Make sure that YOU feel the activities you select are fun and they're YOUR choice. If not, you won't stay with them.
You're on the right track and you are a WINNER! Congratulations.
Add me to your list if you wish (retired RN/educator).

just out of curiousity why is your daily calorie goal set so high? And if so, why are you eating so far below it? Do you need to revisit your goals? I would encourage you to AT LEAST eat 1200 cal a day and if you exercise eat most if not all of those exercise calories back. 1200 has a built in deficit, if you exercise you burn more calories in a day than is healthy.
As for the food you're eating it looks pretty good! I would encourage you to eat leafier greener greens than iceberg lettuce in your salads, mix in some spinach, mixed greens or arugula. Iceberg is fairly void of nutrition except for some fiber.
You're tracking sodium and that's good, most experts now agree to keep your sodium close to 1500 mg / day.
The only other piece of advice is to avoid pre-packaged foods and processed foods as much as possible (I see the occasional lean cusine in your diary). It should just be something for you to be aware of try to accomplish as much as possible.
good luck!0 -
i would say to eat more veggies!
Also, I would say to limit yourself to between 1200 and 1500 calories. Long term weight loss is a lifestyle change. If you get used to eat that much now, it won't be hard later when you have to cut down your calories constantly! Plus your weightloss upfront will be greater!0 -
You're doing great!!0
