I want to start some yoga to regain some flexability. I am very overweight and was quite sedentary until I started doing the walk away the pounds dvd. I don't need a book or video with very exaggerated movements . I want to start slow. Any suggestions?

Rodney Yee has a beginners as does Baron Baptiste...who goes through each move with you and it is slow paced...

Journey into Power Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga
    Beginner level one

    Good luck...

I second the Rodney Yee recommendation. I own several of his videos, and they are presented in a very straightforward fashion, usually with suggestions of modification.

Also, if you can find a class, most instructors are very good at tailoring your workout and helping with modification.

Rodney Yee, like everyone else has said. I started with one you can get at Target, it is called AM/PM yoga and is a simple starter to get you stretched and when you feel ready for more he has a ton of great videos.

His voice is so calm and soothing and he is very informative in his instructionals at the start of the videos, so you don't get hurt!

I started with AM/PM yoga with Suzanne Deason. It is two half hour sessions that get you started without becoming too overwhelmed. I got mine from Wal-Mart ages ago. When you've built up some stregnth and flexibility you can move on to harder workouts. :flowerforyou:
