I did it and loved the results. It really toned up my arms which I don't have pictures of as well as my neck. These are just pictures of my weights/thighs which are my insecurity that I wanted to correct.
I must stress though that I did adhere to a healthy eating lifestyle, as I still am, and drank tons of fluids.
I am considering doing a second round of the shred. I did level 1 for 15 days then level 2 for 15. I started out using soda cans for weights, then soup cans, then 2lbs, finally progressing to 5lbs.
The important thing is to not give up even though you're incredibly sore for the first few days. You will progress and you will see results if you stick it out. As I told myself, it's only a small 20 minutes out of my day0 -
Its great!!! Im on week three and have lost 8lbs and also have lost 1.5in in waist and chest, 2inches in thighs and 0.5 in in arms!!!!0

Cool! I'm thinking of starting it too. I am going to buy the dvd this weekend. Maybe we can start @ the same time & kinda keep each other posted on our progress. That would make it a little more fun & it would keep us motivated in doing it!0

It's a very intense workout. I watched it before I did it and thought, "Geez, that doesn't look very hard!". I did day 1 two days ago and had to take yesterday off. I'm still having a hard time with the stairs. I'm not a total couch potato, but this wasn't at all easy. However, if you search the postings for 30 day shred there's amazing before and after photos - some with great results just 1/2 way through. I'm sure it will be well worth it, but mine will definitely be more like a 45 day shred :laugh:0

Bump!
I've been staring at the unopened DVD for 2 months now trying to work up the nerve to try it. I Jillian, but she's tough!0 -
once the dvd shows up through netflix i am going to be starting it0
-
I had a good support group that all started and finished on the same day on here. That definitely helped me push through on the days I didn't want to work out.0

OMG.
I didn't know it was on Netflix!
Totally just put it at the top of my queue!0 -
Mine is on its way, can anyone tell me about how many calories you burn with it?0
-
I love it. I did level one,and half of level two but I havn't had the time/energy for it the past few days so Im thinking of restarting level 2 next week when exams are done.0

Love it! Love it! Love it!0

you log it under "circuit training, general" and it burns roughly (for me) around 200 in 20 minutes. good deal if you ask me :P0 -
I did it in March and loved it!! It kicks you butt, but is so worth it. I lost 16 pounds and 19.35 inches in the 30 days of doing it!! I consider myself very lucky to get those results. I did do extra cardio every 2-3 days with it. I had posted pictures in the threads somewhere but can find the link.

This link will take you right to the post and the pictures are posted at the bottom of the post. I also have the areas I lost inches from with each areas loss. I was extremely sore the first 3 days but found doing it made the soreness better! Make sure to stay committed to it, I took 3-4 days off during it and I always found it difficult to get back into wanting to do it, but was happy when I did. It makes you feel like you can accomplish anything, and makes you really strong as well.
I have a HRM I used to track my calories burned and I would burn between 300-450 for each workout. Curcit Training- on MFP is the closest thing to it.
Good luck to everyone who's starting it!! Make sure to take before and after pictures and measurements!!0 -
I like 30 Day shred, but I like her ripped in 30 MUCH better! I burn more calories with ripped and I like the exercises better. Also with ripped in 30 there are four levels so you switch after one week. I like that because I get bored to quickly.0
-
Have any of you tried Jillian Michaels: Banish Fat Boost Metabolism?
My netflix has that too.0 -

I do agree with you!! I'm doing Ripped right now and like it better so far just on level 1. But I think its easier for me because I did the Shred first, I burn a few more calories than I did with the Shred too. I recommend Ripped in 30 too.
I haven't tried the Banish Fat Boost Metabolism, but have heard good things about it too. From what I've read on it, people tend to think its a bit easier than the Shred. You could make it into a 3 month program and do BFBM, Shred, then Ripped! Netflix may not have Ripped since its only a month old but amazon sells it for around $10.0 -

BFBM is on it's way now, so I should have that today.
Then as soon as I send one DVD back, I'll be getting Shred.
And Ripped isn't on netflix yet, so I might keep shred a little longer.
But I'll just keep working up my Jillian tolerance!0 -
She almost come addictive!! With the Shred I had to find ways to keep me entertained when it go to day 5-10 of each level, because its hearing her say the same things over and over again. But the feeling you get after doing it is awesome! And she pushes you which is a great thing for me, because I don't wanna quit. I own the Shred, Ripped, and her 6 pack in 6 weeks now and will probably buy more. I've only done 6in6 once on a rest day during the Shred because I thought it be easier, boy was I wrong! It is mostly all ab work but I was sweating my butt off, and wanted to die. You'll have to let me know how you like the BFBM!0

Mine should be arriving in the mail today! So excited!! : ) :bigsmile:0

Ok, just ordered Ripped in 30 and will be getting it Friday stoked to do it!0

How do you add the 30-day shred to your exercise database?0

Until I got my HRM I logged as circuit training. Pretty close! But now I use whatever the heart rate monitor says.0 -

I get sick of her saying the same thing after about 5 or six days too. Like the quote that drives me nuts in ripped is on level one, when she makes the "throwback to the 80's" comments, "get your legwarmers" lol
The 6 pack is a TOUGH workout. The first time i did it I thought I was dying as well!!!!!! I still have troubles with the move where you are on your side, with your arm extended and you lift and lower your hip thats toward the sky. Man thats a tough one!0
