Need motivation...

I am on this site a few times a day looking at the messages and everyones progress. I love the website! I think, though, that I am looking for something I am never going to find, the motivation, the trick, to make it happen for myself. I have every fitness magazine, an elliptical, a gym membership, everything and what I am missing is nothing anyone else can give me, I am starting to understand that, as I am typing this. I think this is the first time I have been brutally honest with myself. I am completely motivated for about 2 weeks, going to the gym, eating right, then one day every meal will be bad and it is very hard to get it back together. I have never logged food on here, it seems overwhelming to me. I guess it depends on how bad I really want it. I started my journey at 215 and I am down to 176. I would love to lose another 20 to 30 pounds by July before vacation with my family and friends. Currently, I have been off the wagon for 2 weeks and feel awful. It is so easy to not care. It takes "work" to accomplish your goals. Anyway, all I really wanted to say was, can you please share your ways for staying motivated or just anything. Thanks so much, sorry this turned into more of a blog.

There's no "trick" dear! What works for me is finding exercises I enjoy, like running and yoga, and then I actually look forward to them. And when I don't feel like doing them, I also think about how much I DON'T enjoy swimsuit shopping or something like that
Also, I have two large hunting dogs so even on those days when I don't want to leave the house, I know they need a run or at least a walk. Similarly, I sign up for running races, because once I've paid the $$ I know I need to train enough to at least finish the darn thing, if not improve on my last time.
And lastly, diet is a huge part of it. Not dietING, but changing your habits for the rest of your life, because eating crap means you're choosing that crap over your own body and health.0 -
You should try logging your food. It is a bit overwhelming at the beginning but once you have your regular foods readily available it's not too bad. I think it is what has gotten me this far. I've lost 9lbs in 9 weeks. Knowing how much you're eating and what you're eating makes it so much easier to manage diet and exercise.
You've done great so far, don't stop now!0 -
Thanks so much for the words of advice. It really helps to know there are people out there that care.0
