Tell me missing one day isn't so bad :(

I had a goal to finish the 30 day shred in well 30 days without a rest day. I was sick just over a week ago for a few days sore throat, icky feeling but I pushed through it and worked out anyway. I was on antibiotics for something else and just finished them on Sunday and now I am sick again. I thought it was just dry in here as I woke up with a super dry/scratchy throat but I feel yucky. I just removed my exercise for the day and now I am in the red, only by -25 but still it is so sad to see.
Now I am wondering if I should suck it up and work through it but I just don't wanna
Tell me it is ok. Tell me I can get back at it after a early nights sleep and not to worry about -25 silly calories.

worry about your health first. if you arent getting better your body is trying to tell you something. i would take a break until you are feeling better then get right back on track. and most likely you arent working out to your full potential anyhow if you dont feel good. good luck and hope you feel better soon!0

Take a day off and rest!! I'm kind of the same way...those few calories I go over on my "rest" days seem to haunt me! But if you aren't feeling well you need to take the day off and get lots of sleep...hope you get well soon!0

Ok... my take is . if your body is revolting so bad.. it is your body you need to listen to. Taking a one day break to rest is not going to break the bank.. so to say. If your body is so exhausted or fighting some flu.. giving it the rest will help recover it back so you can get back to your program sooner. Sometimes pushing it is only extends your illness further. My 2 cents. Whenever I have gone against a fever, injury etc. I only have been set back physically.
Another train of thought is to fight through it... you will need to make a choice & be ok about it. Please do not stress out about it.
hugs...hope you feel better soon.0 -

Rest and forget about 25 extra calories.0 -
Taking a break will actually do your body good. It restores itself.0

I struggle with this soooo bad. I usually take about 1 day off about every 3 weeks or so and that is only because my husband really insists on it and gets on my case about it. I just feel like my whole day is off is I miss a day. It's a weird mental thing for me.
Having said that, I am a very intelligent person. I know that taking a day off is ok. It is more than ok, it is helpful, useful and necessary. Especially if you are sick or have been sick. Please take a day off if you need it. Just know, that you are not the only one that struggles with taking days off.0 -
Thanks. It helps to hear it. I know I should rest and really at this point I have no option because I am headed to bed in about 20 minutes.
Normally it isn't a big deal I am no exercise addict that is for sure but it was a challenge I set and feel a little sad that I am taking a day off. I do technically have a 1 day where I can rest so I guess I will suck it up accept it as today drink some nyquil and head to bed.
In the grand scheme of the things I am not worried about a few calories over (although it sucks to see it) and I know I won't pack on the pounds in the next few days. I think I just needed some reassurance.

pshhh so long as that one day doesn't turn into every day lol you're fine.
All that matters is listening to your body.
everyones body is different and you can't listen to what people tell you that you need to do all the time bc what works for theirs may not work for yours.
don't fret.
i don't forsee it turning into a week I think you're fine.:drinker:0 -
i take one or two days off every week from the gym.
and we all mess up a lil. no worries0
