I'm thinking about getting an exercise ball desk chair for work. Anyone ever tried one?

I've never tried an exercise ball, but I have heard they really work your muscles just keeping it steady. I would like to know more about exercise balls as well. :)

A woman at work used one after she hurt her back. They force you to have good posture, which is essential to core strength.

I don't have one of the desk chair kind but I have a normal exercise ball. I sit on it while I do homework and I do crunches on it and leg lifts. Just sitting on it my legs get a work out because I move around so much. I love my ball. It was 10 bucks at walmart ;)

The only thing is that I'm at a desk all day so I'd have to be sitting on it a long time. They are on a base with rollers, have a back to them and you can also get arm rests. I'm just not sure how it would work for me.

I've had one for a couple of weeks now at home. It does a pretty good job of keeping you in good posture, cause otherwise you'll roll off! I don't feel like it's really a tremendous workout just sitting there, but when I use it for workout, that's another story!! I bought mine at Target for $20 or so. I was REALLY afraid I would pop it, but haven't so far!!

I was just imagining sitting at work and rolling off! Hopefully you don't have a dress on that day! hahahaha

I've thought about purchasing one for my home office also...one with the rollers/base. I think the little munchkins around here would play with the ball if I just had it sitting out by my desk without the base. My home office is in my kitchen which is a walkway to the playroom. I think I saw them at Target for about $80.
