So, I lead a very social life, and I know that alcoholic beverages are pretty much empty calories, but I was wondering which ones would you recommend when you are out for a tipple?

  Vodka has about 60 cals per ounce. Put that with any diet soda/soda water/etc you like and it's not too bad of a drink.
