Bit worried over my weight loss

Hi,
This is my first post on here so I hope I'm writing this in the correct forum!
About 6 weeks ago I decided that with 15 weeks to our holiday I would try to lose a pound a week to actually get back in to some of last years clothes that had started to become a little tight and uncomfortable. Now, about 11 years ago I used to be 165lbs and a comfortable size 34 waist, but after getting married and letting contentment set in, I went up to around 182lbs and a size 36. I'm 5'10" and my BMI was also in the overweight bracket so I also wanted to do something about this. I found www.myfitnesspal.com and the app for my mobile and looked at losing about 1 to 1.5lbs a week. At my heaviest (albeit on an evening) on 13th March I was 185lbs and in just over 6 weeks after sticking to the calories the site recommended, I am down to 169lbs (on a morning). This has me slightly worried and I'm a bit concerned that I've lost too much too quickly. Although, at least the clothes I have are now fitting me much better, indeed there's some slack in them now!
One of my concerns is that since Sunday 17th April, I've decided to go back to eating "normally" and not worry about what I'm eating and I've set my preferences to maintain my weight. Yet even after eating more I'm still losing a little weight. I've been weighing myself each morning, and this morning I was down another pound on yesterday (now 169lbs). Now I know that body weight fluctuates during the week and they do say you probably shouldn't weight yourself every day, but it's just the routine I've been doing. I've also started to feel quite tired and physically shattered each day. One morning after being at the gym, I actually felt like I was going to be sick....now I could have just over exerted at the gym, but I did nothing different to normal. I'm not feeling 100% today either (and I've not been at the gym), just a little light headed and when I eat something I feel like as soon as I've started a bite, it I can't face finishing it. I'm not like this every day, and maybe I've just got myself worried over this.
I don't really want to lose any more weight, and the weight loss I wanted to achieve was basically to help me feel more comfortable in my clothes. Instead it has me worried that I've lost too much too quickly and concerned about how I'm feeling.
Just wondered if anyone else has had anything similar or if I'm the only one!!
Many thanks
Adrian

WISH I WAS LOSING QUICKLY LOL...
I WOULD GO SEE YOUR GP0 -
Ordinarily, I would say that this was a good rate of loss at 1-1.5 pounds per week. But as you say you are really feeeling rather unwell, something is wrong here.
Either you aren't eating quite enough or you are over-exercising.0 -
Sounds like you've got a virus to me. Get it checked by the doc, but if it is a virus, there's not a lot you can do other than rest and eat well.0

Get a check up with your doc. With your efforts, you coud be one of the lucky ones that just lost quickly, or there could be something more going on. Esp now that you are having other symtoms. Could just be that you need a supplement, be it, B12 or iron...maybe anemic. Could be low blood pressure or low blood sugar. he only way to know is to check with your doc. You also do not want to let it go too long for fear of causing some unknown damage.
PS I am not one to jump to my docs office at the slightest of things either....I will put it off as long as I have to. But your instincts are telling you something is not right...get it checked out.0 -
Thanks for all your replies. I've booked an appointment with the doc but can't see one until May 3rd! Typical!
I'm feeling much better this afternoon and more like my normal self. I had plenty of lucozade and a mars bar not long after I wrote the forum post as I wondered if my sugar levels were low. Work's been quite stressful this week too so that could be playing a part in how I've been feeling.
Still, I'll get a check up with the docs. I think I'm one of those people that just naturally worries and probably panics about something that probably isn't there. Still, there's time between now and seeing the doc to keep tabs on how I am.
Thanks again for your responses, much appreciated.

I have been losing weight as well .. rather quickly.. sometimes, not so much. My Dr has me taking a few supplements, as some of my blood levels were low, and that rapid weight loss can affect calcium loss. I am taking 1000 u of Vitamin D daily, in conjunction with 2000 mg of Calcium Citrate.(Caltrate chews) I also take the recommended multi-vitamin, but not within an hour of taking the calcium. I am also taking 1 pill of Biotin a day, to counteract the hair loss from the rapid weight loss.
I have found that if I do not take the Dr recommended supplements, I don't feel as well. Definitely have your blood sugar checked. Make sure that even with dieting, you are getting the nutrients your body needs, and don't forget to stay hydrated appropriately. That can certainly make you feel sick and light-headed.
Congratulations on your weight loss! Hope you start feeling better, soon.0 -
sounds like you are sick. i mean, you "feel" sick, so you are probably just mildly sick. give it a week and see what happens then.0
