a little bit about mary beth and why she wants to lose 80 lb

I saw My FitnessPal on my android phone and downloaded it. Its great to be able to log things in quickly when I'm on the go but I also love the extra options and such on the full site. I've always been a thick girl but I really started to pack on the lbs about a year after I had my son. 5 years later and here I am, 215 lbs and wondering what is the rest of my life going to be like if I dont get in control of this problem? I'm what I guess you could call an "emotional eater". I eat whenever I experience any negative feeling (sad, angry, embarassed, lonely). Therefore, my weight has always yo-yoed alot depending on the ups and downs of my moods, feelings, and life in general.

I want to be fit, active, and yes... I want to fit in my old jeans! I also need to set a better example for my son, who is a little bit on the heavier side himself. And of course body-image issues are another reason I want to get in shape. I'm tired of shopping in plus size stores because the clothes at the regular stores in the mall dont carry size 18.

I hope to make new friends here who can relate to what I'm going through and can give me that extra kick in the butt I need!
