Is there a reason I am not seeing progress?

I am usually under the daily calories by at least 500, I work out around 4 days a week doing circuits two days and running two days, but my weight is staying the same. I also stay above the other categories. What am I doing wrong? You can view my diary if you want to try and help. I have lost about 1-2 lbs in 3 weeks. A friend of mine told me to cut carbs out of my diet, but I need carbs to get through my workouts. I generally work out for about an hour when I exercise as well.

Why are you "under your daily calories by at least 500"? Do you understand that MFP has already calculated a 500 calorie deficit into your calorie goal?

ETA: Your diary is not public.

It depends on a lot of things. What is your daily calorie goal? You could not be eating enough! You need to eat at least what your BMR is (this site has a BMR calculator), otherwise your body will go into starving mode and consume muscle and fat. You just want the fat gone, not muscle! Don't cut out just carbs, that's terrible. Carbs are important.

Also, are you measuring yourself? Or are you just going by what the scale says? If you use a scale and measure yourself, you will likely see slow progress (if any) on the scale, while you're shrinking away. This is because muscle is more dense than fat. You could simply be replacing fat with muscle and not noticing because you are looking at the scale only.

My dairy is public now., sorry. My daily caloric goal is 2200 calories/day. I usually have around 300-500 calories left at the end of the day. I don't think that is a bad number. I eat three meals a day and snack throughout on fruit and other things like yogurt. Oh and the 300-500 calories is after I put in my daily workouts, so I am getting around my daily goal of 2200 before workout calculates what I have added by exercising.

should I change my active lifestyle from active to light active? I am a student and walk a lot thoughout the day going from class to class, and I work out. Also I thought switching up to more weight resistance instead of doing body weight exercises.

If you arent eating enough your body is hanging onto what you ARE eating. You need to change it up! for a week
go over your max calorie limit by 150 calories. Work out like usual. Then the week after go back to the calories you should
be eating. This will trick your metabolism......Good luck:smile:

Are you at a place your body wants to be? It seems like when you hit a natural plateau, it is impossible to bust through.

I went back thru your diary for the past week & a half and I noticed you are usually over your sodium limits for each day.
I'm sure your blood pressure is fine with all the exercise you do - but too much sodium can cause you to retain fluid which shows up as weight on the scale. I suggest you try to swap out some high sodium foods with low sodium foods and see if that will help?

    Wishing you well!!

PS: also by cutting back on sodium you'll be doing your kidneys & liver a favor.
