After a month or two of being off the wagon :( , I started doing jillian michaels' making the the cut workout and running and following the calories from MFP. It's been 4 days and I somehow lost a pound right away, but then I gained it back and then another one.. So I'm -up- two pounds!

Its frustrating to work so hard and see the opposite of what I want. :( Is my body confused? Is it gaining muscle? How long do you think it will be until the scale starts going back -down- instead of up?

Don't forget to measure--especially where you don't have as much to lose, the measuring tape will be your best friend. :)
  • I agree measuring is your best friend and not the scale. Muscle is heavier than fat, but muscle is smaller than fat, so gaining muscle isn't all that bad for you.

Okay. ((sigh)) Thanks guys. I *do* eventually have 13 pounds to lose so I hope it starts to even out after all the muscle gaining. I tend to build muscle really easily; my sister and I always joke that we should be female bodybuilders LOL.

Still, I love the way I *feel* and I will start measuring to see a difference in the "numbers". I do hope that scale starts to come down soon though!

1 to 2 pounds is, honestly, meaningless. It could just be fluctuations in water weight, especially depending on the time of the month. I just read your profile and your primary goal was to eat healthy and to exercise on a consistent basis. If you're doing that, the weight will come off eventually. Be patient and keep up the good work.

You are so right lessertess! I will measure success that way.
