So I decided when I first started MFP that I will allow myself one cheat meal a week. I won't be having an easter dinner this weekend because I'm working, is it really that bad if my family and i order a pizza and i have like 2-3 slices? I really want it badly, and have been so good....

Go for it. Just eat smaller meals the rest of the day to help make up for it. Granted, you'll probably still go over for the day but going over by a few hundred calories once won't hurt too much.

Depending on how calorically restrictive your diet is, cheat days are actually good for your body, not just your mind. So, go ahead, indulge.

Why not? I have pizza at least once a week and make it fit in my calories, so it's not even a cheat food.

There are no bad foods. Only bad portions.

Can you make the pizza at home?
I did that last week and planning on doing that tonight. We got some whole wheat naan flatbread from jewel, or you can by a Bertoli whole wheat crust. We put a bit of sauce on, then a smaller amount of cheese than carry-out. Topped with veggies on my side and pep or chicken sausage on the hubby's side. It was way better than carry-out and that way I can still track my calories because I know what and how much I put on it.

I don't believe in depriving oneself. Everything in moderation/portion control. If you like veggies on your pizza - do that and keep it to 2 slices and don't stress over it. Just keep making healthier choices and exercise. Work it into your calorie intake and you won't feel like you are cheating. I tend to exercise even more in a day that I know I want something that may increase my calorie intake that way I can enjoy that meal - again watching portion sizes.

Have a wonderful Easter dinner with your family. Maybe if it's nice out - go for a family walk after dinner!

I'm allowed just over 1000 calories left for the day, i had a light breakfast, lunch and snack just in case. The only thing I'd go over is sodium, but my doctor told me I needed more sodium in my diet after he took some blood from me. So thanks guys :D

You can always make the pizza. I make pita pizzas (perfect single serving portions)with low fat cheese and turkey pepperoni. Then load it up wth veggies. It's tasty and way better for you than take out.

Check out the calories before you order. Most pizzas are listed on MFP. I'd be careful not to order meat lovers with extra cheese or anything too crazy, but then again, if that's what you really want, go for it! Two or three slices won't ruin your week. Just be aware that the sodium is high so drink lots of water.

I would look up the pizza and count it... you might be surprised at how little you will go over :)

Will you eat pizza once in a while when you're at your goal weight? If so, go ahead and have the pizza. I have two days off from counting calories every week and it hasn't hindered my weight loss at all.

I had a pizza the other day. Went over my cals but was well worth it. Was under for the rest of the week. We need those little balance out meals to keep the momentum going!

I say do it. I still eat pizza occasionally. I just fit it into my calories that day. Do you have Z Pizza? It is a pizza shot that only uses organic ingredients and it is so good and healthier than other pizza places.

Like everyone says: portions are the important thing. It's also what you pair it with: instead of only pizza (or - GASP! - pizza AND cheesy bread), add a large side salad with a lower fat dressing or some steamed veggies. Eat a serving of either of these BEFORE you dig into the pizza and you will need to eat less slices in order to get full, while still being able to enjoy one of your favorites. Also, by pairing veggies or fruits, you will be getting fiber which will hep digest the fat and aid it on its way out. :)

Oh, I'd LOVE my doctor forever and ever if she told me I needed more sodium!

Half a DiGiorno Supreme is about 1000 calories, and that's a rising crust. You're golden!

There is a local pizza place that we love because they make everything from scratch and it is inexpensive. I will have two slices of a cheese pizza with a salad at least once a month. From scratch is worth having!

I have pizza almost every single week (from the frozen food section). I have treats all the time... I budget them into my schedule.
For me its all about a "bank account" --- everything has a cost. If you want something and dont have the calories for it... you need to exercise to get them. Today I ran 8 miles... so I am pretty much eating whatever I want ... because I burned 1860 calories! :)

I hate the term cheat day though ... you are not cheating... you are making a decision. Cheating makes it sound naughty ... moderation baby!

Sometimes you just have to say screw it! There is always tomorrow. As long as you don't say it too often.

Well I ate 3 slices, and because my tummy is not used to this kind of food anymore, it feels kinda upset. But I did play the kinect for the xbox for almost half an hour cuz i was a little over in calories. Now I don't feel so bad :). Thanks everyone :D
