Minor victory today in the war on obesity. When I started back in December my BMI was 59.8, way up in the obesity range. It was so high that it exceeded the range on the MFP BMI tool.Today when I entered my numbers, the arrow marking my BMI moved to the left, after being pegged to the right since I began.
Yes I am still well into the Obese range. BUT, this was one of my unspoken goals since day 1, to get my BMI to at least register. We're making progress!

By the way, it has gone from 59.8 down to 49.6. Body fat has also dropped several points as well.

That is fantastic Tomhusker! The BMI numbers are the most important numbers and the fact that they are dropping is proof positive that you are on the right track. Keep up the great work! 73 lbs is an amazing achievement. You rock!

Great job Tom. When I started my BMI was 47.5 and is now 38.8. If you search there are other websites that have BMI calculators. Even though I'm way down they show me as being in the 98th percentile. Through trial and error it won't go down much until I hit around 270.

Want to know what is sad, I will be at the 50th percentile when I weigh 250 lbs! That is 65 lbs over my goal. Amazing!
  • Thats fantastic! Congratulations and keep it up!

Oh yes! My energy level is so much higher today than it was back on day 1. And my confidence has almost returned to the cocky/arrogant state it was in back in my sports days...... as you can imagine, my wife is thrilled with that part.

10 BMI points is not a minor victory -- it's something to be proud of. Congratulations! Take a deep breath, and on with the long haul. You'll do it.
