OK..just got back from vacation...although I worked out with my exercise dvds and hiked, biked and ran, I gained 3 lbs! I knew that drinking wine every night and indulging in some sweets and not watching my portions as carefully might cause me to gain, despite my workouts, but 3 lbs on my 5 ft 1in body is a lot! I didn't gain any weight when we went to Florida (walking those theme parks must have burned more calories than I thought), so I am really upset with myself...With Easter and all its food temptations just 2 days away, I need to get these extra lbs off in the next 2 days..and then not go crazy on Sunday...I am going to double up my workouts and cut way down on carbs and definitely no more wine or sweets! Will also try to drink more water...my doctor and I were just discussing how easy it is to have the weight creep back up when you have lost a good amount of weight and let diet slide a bit (I lost 30lbs last year). I won't let this happen to me, so need some motivational talk and good, sound advice! I have a goal to lose another 10lbs before summer and this extra 3 just has me in a funk today

You didn't gain 3lbs, you just have some water retention. Go back to normal eating habits and it will be off in a week no problem. Keep your chin up. Most people come back from vacation with a much more drastic scale change than that so I think you did really well.0

Don't worry, just keep going as you have been!! It could be a fluctuation so drink lots of water and weigh yourself again in a couple of days...it might just drop right back off
And if it doesn't, think about 3 pounds compared to all the weight you've already lost. It's not that much, and if you get back into your normal routine it's just a small speed bump and nothing to worry about!
Good luck!! I think everyone gains a little weight on vacations.0 -
Im sorry to hear....but it may be water retention since you had alot of sweets and possible sodium. More than likely it will all fall off in the next couple of days. best of luck to you!0

Thanks everyone for the encouragement. I believe that once I start eating sugary desserts, I have a harder time stopping..so yesterday, my friend brought over some of her homemade baklava and I couldn't resist..had one piece and gave the rest away..Then I was stuffing Easter eggs with Cadbury mini eggs (the ones with the hard shell are just too hard to resist) and popped a few in my mouth (but only a few)..Same goes for wine..had one glass with friends while watching a movie last night..I did pretty well with my food the rest of the day and already down .5lb..Tomorrow will be tough with all the wonderful food at breakfast and dinner, so will make sure I make time for a good workout in between..I do think some of it was water retention..and I should not be so hard on myself..it will come off, but just needed a bit of a boost, so thanks!! Happy Easter everyone!!0
