So I had a bad eating day today... Or yesterday I guess since it's really now tomorrow. I'm trying not to let it get to me since it's the first bad day I've had in 5 weeks, I think I'm doing pretty good. But maybe that makes it even worse, because I went so long and then one day just blew it! Well I suppose I will try to not dwell on the past and do better in the future!

Right there with ya. I had easter dinner with my family. Then in the evening, I went to a baby shower where I had chicken enchiladas, chips, spinach dip and a big piece of cake. I have no idea how many calories were in any of it. I'm guessing I'm over by 800 or so. Which is my 2nd day of being over in almost 8 weeks, so I'm not stressing about it. I feel bloated and bleh though.

You know what? It's gonna happen. Don't beat yourself up. You start fresh with your next meal.

Last weekend was rough for me. Friday night, I really wanted a cheeseburger and not just McDonalds, a real cheeseburger, so hubby and I took the kids to Applebees and I had my burger and a skinny Margarita (it's new). Then Saturday night, we hosted a potluck dinner party at our house. It was fun but it's hard to be really good with all that food around. I was better on Sunday and the rest of this week. When I got on the scale on Friday, I was actually down 2 lbs (I kicked up my exercise a little bit)!!

As long as you pick yourself up and keep going, everything will be fine.

You need to allow a splurge day in there every now and then. Don't beat yourself up for going over every once and a while. Just dont make a habit of it lol.

For what it's worth, all my trainer friends say as long as you stay disciplined at least 95% of the time you're fine.

I know for me I'm on a 2lb/week weight loss rate and I usually end each day under my daily target caloric intake so if I ever have a "bad" day and even double my calorie target, I'll probably just maintain my current weight. Important thing is to not let it affect any meals or days that follow.

Plus, if I ever have a bad meal I'll usually jump on the tread mill for 20-30 min to end my day. Amazing how a good workout can get the body feeling back on track.
  • You need a 'cheat' day every now and then, it spikes your metabolism. Just start fresh the next day and it will all fall back into routine. One day a week I have a guilt free day. I don't eat terrible, but I don't limit myself to the diet I am on. If I want some German Potato Pancakes, I won't feel bad about ordering them. :)
