Best way to address sore muscles

I overdid it a little in my workout yesterday. Attempted JM 30 day shred and I am feeling it today. My entire lower half is really annoyed with me. I normally would work out again today and take tomorrow off due to evening family committments on Mondays. Should I work out again today or is that going to make it worse and have me in pain and missing workouts all week? Or should I rest today and try to squeeze something in tomorrow. I am not even sure what I would be able to do today, but I have a sense that working out a little may help ease the pain. I appreciate your help.
Oh, and I was hoping to exercise today to have a little wiggle room in my calories for holiday indulgences.
Happy Easter!

I started teh 30DS yesterday and was sore this morning. I did day 2 this morning and my abs are killing me, so I am most def taking the day off tomorrow lol. It is really all up to you, how you feel and how your body feels. You could give it a try, but if it is too much then stop and take a day off.0

I started this journey doing the shred, and let me tell you, I was so sore from doing it I could hardly move, but I pushed through the pain from the first 4 days then I was good to go. Just listen to your body!0

In my experience its better to try and do a little something to help push past the soreness, but sometimes that easier said than done. You may also try soaking in a hot bath with epsom salts.
Hope you have a Happy Easter!0 -
You should probably not workout today, your muscles need to rest... and often it's worse the second day (tomorrow)... hopefully not. Walking or something low impact might be a good idea today. Stretching today would also be a good idea.0

By exercising again it will take the soreness away some. I would do it today for sure unless you are having intense pain then that would be different than post workout soreness.0

I normally just push through. I've always noticed the soreness gets much better 5-10 minutes in.0

Instead of another full workout, you might try a nice long stretching / flexibility session to work out the kinks in the muscles. If you don't allow some recovery time, it can make it worse.0

It's best to work out when you're sore (providing you're giving yourself appropriate rest time). You'll warm up those muscles, flush out lactic acid, and feel better.0

I'm not familiar with the Shred routine, but I don't fail to workout unless my muscles are so fatigued they can't hold. On the other hand, I try to not work the same muscles day after day, so if you did a lower body workout that was effective, today do an upper body workout, follow it up with a cardio exercise that gets those lower body muscles moving a bit, you'll be glad you did tomorrow. for me second day pain is always worse than next day pain. LOL0

I would do a light work out. Start out slow, and don't overdo it again today. For me, if I do just a little when I'm sore, I feel better. Hope you feel better:-)0

I was extremely sore after my first time doing the 30 Day Shred. I decided not to push myself and just took walks as my exercise. After about 4 days, I felt better and now I don't even get sore after doing the 30 Day Shred.0

A little ibuprofen may help.0

I didn't do the Shred again today, I don't think it would have been productive. I will get back to it though in a day or two. I did a moderate workout on my stationary bike just so I wasn't doing anything. Then I soaked in a bath. I am still sore but proud of myself that I didn't let it keep me from working out at all today. Thanks for the advice.0
