Easter dinner could have been much worse, it was still bad though

    Ham-only a little
homemade guacamole dip with tortilla strips/chips
    deviled egg-one half
cheesy hashbrowns-2 servings =way too much
    green bean casserole
    roll w/ butter
lemon dessert-lemon pudding mixed with cream cheese, cool whip and powdered sugar on a pecan crust 335 cal. per serving. it's a family favorite recipe so I HAD to make it and take to a gathering
    Reeses peanut butter egg

OK I think that's all the damage. Honestly I don't feel guilty about it. I have't gone over calories in ages and I burned off over 3500 calories in exercise prior to that so I'm calling it a spike day and moving on!!

Thankfully with a childless household, Easter candy was not an issue for me this weekend. However, deviled eggs were and I ate twice my share of them, a 6 oz grilled New York strip, half a baked potato (a WHITE ONE!) with sour cream, and my all time favorite, pear, walnut and cream cheese molded jello salad.

Thankfully, I burned an extra 500 calories on Friday and Saturday and still got my regular workout in on Sunday so that I stayed under my net calories each day.

Party's over -- time to kick some flab!
  • I just had a lot of fried food

I was so bad! Fudge! Chocolate! Caramel filled chocolate eggs! Fried Chicken! I was BAD, Bad, Bad! I gained 6.2 pounds since Thursday! I've joined several challenges to change this!
  • Whatever was put in front of me, I ate  I had enogh white wine for all of us. I made a strawberry shortcake. Not only did I eat a slice, I kept taste testing it too. I'm scared to hop on the scale because I feel a little heavier. I even took the weekend off from exercising. I am back on my A game today, but this weekend SUCKED!!!!
  • I had chocolate, chips, regular coke and jelly beans, I hate jelly beans but couldn't stop eating them, I guess when you are desperate you will eat anything! :blushing:

LOL! Nothing I made/ate was low fat (except maybe the salad later in the evening). AuGratin Potatoes (homemade), green bean casserole, Inside out sweet potatoes, coconut cake, glazed carrots, honey baked ham... and a little candy. I didn't go crazy, but noticed the carb monster/night munchies come out late last night. (it doesn't do that when I eat right). Whatever, I'll work it off this week with my runs and eating right.

All in all, I did limit my portions - and weighed .2 lbs less this morning.

My sister came into town and has to eat all the Chicago foods she misses since they don't offer them in Boston. I had Giordano's pizza, Portillo's, White Castle... and the food I made on Sunday which was healthy. Plus, cookies and chocolate pudding pie.

It's a new week... time to kick it up a notch!

Hi everyone, I'm new to the boards, but I saw this topic and I felt I should share. I gained. .8 lbs. But I had a lot of sweets, but felt that drinking water (10 glasses) sort of helped.

Oh gosh I really thought I was the only one. I now feel better about myself and laughed off some calories  . Thanks
  • Saturday.. ooo voy!!! Saturday I started the day off good because I knew my family was coming over and we were having pizza hut for dinner. I had planned my day drinking alot of water to make up for the high sodium meal i was going to have.. I thought I was okay I wasnt going over calories.. sodium yes, calories no.....so I didnt feel too bad.

WELL, of course when family come over my planning goes to hell. Door bell rings and a huge cheese/pepperoni tray with crackers was shoved in my face. I was DONE FOR!!! In 5 mins I ate 700+ calories!!!! Eeeekk!!!!!!! OHH the guilt!!!

Sunday I was good I had pasta and salad. I avoided the ham and dessert. :)

I was terrible all last week. Well, most of the week. Today I am not going to do so well either. Dyngus day celebrations later which means a polish buffet and polish beers. I will polka tonight and I just did 6 wk 6 pck so at least I'm keeping to my exercise (which I'm just getting back into due to overworking my knee)
Tomorrow is a new day, though. I did step on the scale today to remind myself what over doing it will cause... which is a pound or so increase.

Confessions! Oh boy, k...here I go! I'm guilty of...chocolate cake with buttercream frosting, chocolate chip cookies, lemon/peach pudding (made with sour cream!), dinner rolls, spinach dip, and this cream cheese ball mixed with crushed pineapple and rolled in walnuts! And there was nothing "moderation" about these things. Everything that was in moderation were the healthy things, lol...that's only because there wasn't enough room from the the junk I ate! Ok, new day! Feel better about my confessions! Oh no, brushetta too! It never ends! I don't think I was fully conscious while I was eating! : )

Hope everyone had a great (new) day!

    Here is my assessment

Pizza and chocolate on Saturday - Hmmm
12km walk (2.5 hours) on easter morning before eating my easter egg for breakfast - GOOD
A few treats over the weekend, but not out of control gorging, controlled treats in reasonable proportions - GOOD
Went to the fish and chip shop and had a vegie burger for tea without ordering chips on sunday night - better than expected
700g loss from last mondays weigh in this morning - GOOD

ALL GOOD!! I treated myself, but i still exercised, I didn't over indulge, and I'm back on the wagon this morning, how can I complain about that?

I went crazy and had about 700 calories in desserts, and didn't shy away from the potatoes or crescent rolls... but I went on a very long run in the morning and did some other exercises on top of that, so I stayed under.

I went over by 400 calories. Went to a bbq (2nd day in a row) and despite trying to stick to salad I lapsed and had a load of meat as well. Felt a bit bad but then thought sod it... I deserve a treat day. So nice to see so many others enjoyed the day as much as me. Back to healthy tomorrow though.

Oh god... I ate... EVERYTHING!! I think I was really stoked at the whole sweets thing and I just happen to of made a huge pan of bread pudding with brandy orange whipped cream to take to the family BBQ. Easter was NOT a good day calorie wise. Unfortunately I got very ill  Today I weighed in just to see and nada damage done. Went for a hike today and now I feel great and guilt free.
