I need advice!

I started this website about a month ago and have been doing well. I have lost 4lbs. I am thinking I should be losing more. I have been eating under my 1200 calories a day and exercising my bum off, but only 4lbs! What is up? Anyone else feeling frustrated?
Thank you,
Jocelyn

I know it sounds crazy but you don't need to be below your 1200 calories, you need to be eating all 1200 caloies.
Especially if you are exercising.0 -
First off, make sure that you aren't sending yourself into starvation mode. If you are consistently eating less than 1,200 per day and then creating a bigger deficit by exercising, you may be telling your body "There's no more food" so its response is to hold onto to every gram of food it gets.
Also, you might think about the quality of the food you're eating. Eating "C.R.A.P." - excess caffeine, refined sugar, alcohol, and processed foods stresses out your body. To protect your liver and kidneys, your body stores these toxins in fat so your liver and kidneys don't have to filter through everything at once.
I was stuck at 152 lbs and then went on a 14-day detox and was able to get my weight down in the 140s just by upping the amount of lean protein I ate and eliminating excess junk from my diet.
Hope this helps!0 -
Yes, this does help. I think I have been putting my body in starvation mode. Not good. What detox did you use?
Thank you so much for the advice. I appreciate it so much.
Have a great day!

I am so old school. I think the less calories you eat the better. Even when I exercise. I need to stop thinking this way. Plus, I think I ruined my metabolism doing this for so many years.
Thank you so much for the advice.0 -
I bought James Dugain's book "The Clean & Lean Diet" -- he is Elle Macpherson's personal trainer as well as a trainer to some of the Victoria's Secret models. The book was less than $20 at Barnes & Noble. It is a full-color book with a 14-day detox menu and workout, a post-detox plan, several delicious recipes, and step-by-step workout guide. Honestly, it's been a very relaxing process. He's big on cleaning up your eating habits, working out smarter not harder, and making sure to do things that help you relax and produce less of the fat-storing stress hormone cortisol. I've been taking Epsom salt baths a couple times a week, too, and that helps detoxify your body as well as completely relax you.0

I am going to have to get this book too. I read the article you posted about eating sugar and the side effects. Very Interesting! You were right about the tea. I weighed myself this morning and I lost 1.4 lbs since my last weigh in 6 days ago and I started eating more often and clean. Thank you.
Any other ideas please share. More information the better.
Have a good day!
