What should I eat as snacks?

I'm trying to start over and plan my meals. I planned a breakfast, lunch and dinner for tomorrow and have 553 calories left over. That is WITH exercise calories because my tuesday/thursday schedule prevents me from working out. Any ideas on good snack foods that won't leave me hungry?
-I already have an apple as part of my lunch and they aren't my favorite food so please don't say apple. lol.

Some of my favorite snacks are:
string cheese
individual size puddings and applesauce
almonds
yogurt with granola
california cuties (yummmm!!!)
reduced fat crackers with fat free cheese and turkey (sort of like a lunchable)
fat free cottage cheese on toast
spicy v8
chocolate milk
granola bars (they have all kinds of amazing flavors...it's like eating a cookie!!)
also, when I'm eating vegetables like celery and carrots that I usually dip in dressing, I've found that they also taste reeeeally good dipped in pico.. You can make your own really easily with a can of petite diced tomatoes, some cilantro, some onion, and some diced jalepenos :-)0 -
ok, this is going to sound weird but it's my new favorite late night snack. fat free cottage cheese (1/2 cup) cocoa powder (1 tbsp) and cool whip free (2 tbsp). i add a little splenda to make it sweeter. then you mix it all up and for 110 calories you have a tasty chocolate dessert that is high in protein, low in calories and fills pretty nicely
btw, i don't like cottage cheese at all but this is so tasty its absolutely tolerable. definately worth trying!0 -
I LOVE snacks. They make my world go round. Here are my staples:
- Pear/apple with one wedge of Laughing Cow Light
- 1/4 cup of Trader Joe's trail mix ( or any mix that comes out to about 140-160 cals per 1/4 cup).
- Luna bar (for days when I need the extra calories)
- Cup of low-sodium soup
- Slice of bread with peanut butter and sugar-free preserves
- Yoplait fat free yogurt w/ sprinkling of cereal
- 1/2 cup of cereal with a splash of milk0 -
-grapes/berries
-melon slices
-baby carrots with dip
-yogurt
-cheese and crackers
-whole wheat toast with peanut butter
-glass of milk or 100% juice
- applesauce or pudding cup
-100cal snack pack
-nuts/seeds
-popcorn
-pretzels
-any fruit- kiwi, pear, banana, pomegranate etc

Have you tried the famous celery with peanut butter and raisins on top :bigsmile: ?
When I was in this teen weight loss group they showed us how to make low fat snacks, one that I remember and still make are the fat free chocolate cookie ice cream sandwiches. You take cool whip and sandwich it between two fat free chocolate wafers or graham crackers put in freezer until hard. Taste just like the real thing!
Some other snack ideas I found online:
-Banana with low sugar peanut butter
-Bagel chips with salsa
-Medium-sized bran muffin
-Hard-boiled egg with a dash of salt and pepper or a smear of mustard.
-Raw veggies with hummus, yogurt or low-fat cheese
-Fruit smoothie
-Ready-to-eat whole grain cereal with soy milk
-Pita bread stuffed with lettuce, tomato, cucumber and low-fat dressing
-Chipped tuna and chopped celery, tossed with low-fat mayonnaise
-Air-popped popcorn, low-fat cheese, low-fat yogurt, rice cakes make for a safe snack at night.
-Apple, grapes or strawberries- dipped in honey
-Pretzels
-Dry cereal
-Baby carrots
-Raw fruits
-Vegetable soup
-Homemade trail mix made with unsalted almonds, raisins, sunflower seeds, and pretzels
-Re fried black beans with red or yellow bell pepper strips
-Non fat frozen vanilla yogurt with dried dates
-Mango black bean salsa with baked tortilla chips
-Organic peanut butter with baby carrots
-Low fat spinach dip with an assortment of fresh veggies
-2 cups of raspberries
-1/2 medium cantaloupe
-Low fat jello
-6 saltine crackers and 2 teaspoons of peanut butter
-Over a small baked potato, spoon 1/2 cup of salsa and 2 Tablespoons of non-fat sour cream
-Freeze 1/2 cup of orange juice and eat with a spoon. Nice little sorbet
-Low-fat pudding
-1 rice cake thinly spread with fat-free sour cream and sprinkled with 1 tablespoon of crumbled blue cheese
-1/2 cup of applesauce and 1 piece of toast cut into four sticks for dunking
-One small box of raisins
-1 cup fat-free frozen yogurt
-Baked apple stuffed with raisins and sprinkled with cinnamon; top with 1/4 cup fat-free vanilla yogurt
-1/2 cup sorbet
-1/2 peanut butter sandwich
- 1 serving cold cereal with skim milk
-Handful animal crackers
-Roasted Chickpeas
-Frozen grapes, berries, or cheeries
-Sweet potato fries - cut into matchsticks, coat with a bit of olive oil, put in the oven for 30min
-Pepper strips or pita with low-fat hummus
-Fruit-juice popsicles
-Frozen sliced bananas
-Baked potato wedges
-Freeze dried corn and green beans

I just have a couple to add:
(most are sweet-tasting since I crave sugary stuff...)
handful of sugar snap pea pods
a few slices of jicama (sweet but texture is kind of like a potato.... good on salads, too!)
4 True North Almond clusters (100 cal)
dried apricots
spruce up the apple... cut into slices, put a dash of cinnamon and 2 tsps raisins and either bake or microwave
a s'more with one marshmallow, 1/4 graham cracker, and 1 square of a hershey's bar is 59 cal
2-3 marshmallows, plain
