I work out at the gym and use the ellyptical as my main source of cardio during the week, on the weekends I do videos, kick boxing and aerobics, Jillian Michaels because I use different muscles.

I need to buy some sort of machine or something for the weekends this summer at my campground. Trying to decide on a low budget, compact machine of some sort... an eliptical, bike, stair stepper, I don't know...

Any suggestions? My campground isn't too big and I really don't like jogging that much, I can power walk but how many times can you walk the darned loop.

I want to be able to just hop on something for 45-60 minutes/day and burn burn burn the calories!!

If you are wanting in-expensive... check garage sales, auctions, craig's list or thrift stores... or just put it on facebook that you are looking... I posted on facebook that I wanted some inexpensive work out equipment and ended up with a free elliptical and recumbent bike that people weren't using anymore so they just gave it to me

Yes I would check your local classifieds! I got a free treadmill and bought an exercise bike and total gym both for 50 bucks. You don't need to spend a lot to get good exercise equipment. Just keep your ears and eyes on the alert. It's great to be able to work out at home. Good luck to you:)

Shake Weight!!!! LOL!! No, I'm kidding, but couldn't resist.

Get yourself some stretch tubing and you can do almost anything, anywhere. :-)

Just be careful because with a lot of the inexpensive machines you give up comfort and quality. It may be worth it to spend a little more so that it doesn't break down or become so uncomfortable that you can't use it. I spent more than I wanted to on my eliptical and I am glad I did since it has a longer stride length. I have found I can't do the ones with the shorter stride length due to my height. Even most of the eleipticals at the gym are to short for my stride and they hurt my knee when I use them.
  • I use the "Wii Fit Plus" I work out 30 minutes minimum a day, it has lots of exercises included plus you unlock as you progress, it sounds like a game but believe me, its a workout for the entire family, you set goals like you do here, it weigh you etc......... Its working for me 100%.

Do you have power at your campsite? I'd just take your computer and bring some exercise DVDs. Then you don't have waste at the end of the summer and you won't get gypped with a bad machine.

Alternatively, stretch bands are good. You could also do yoga or pilates and burn some serious calories if you really exert yourself.

Such a good idea :) except my camper is teeeny...and I think I would feel funny doing exercise videos outside LOL!! But you do have a point I would love and elyptical - but the home version ones...they all have iffy reviews...no room for a full sizer (plus pricey) checking craigslist - Thanks :)
