HRM reading = 208 this morning...what???

So I did my TurboFire this morning, 45 minutes of Fire45EZ. After I was done, my HRM gave me my max and min heart rates. My max was 208. WTF? I did this exact workout yesterday and my max was in the 170's. My highest max ever has been around 185 and that's when I was really giving it 100%. Should I be concerned, or was this probably just a fluke? I didn't feel any different during this workout than I do any other day.

How did you feel during the workout? If you didn't feel like you were about to pass out, it was probably a fluke. I've been having a problem with my HRM in spin class locking up at 198 for a high and 110 for a low. Totally off.

Sometimes HRM readings spike due to electromagnetic interference, static from technical shirts, or just bad connection.

Nothing to worry about unless you are having chest pains.

Could be a fluke, but do keep an eye on your HR while working out, for fear you might cause yourself to pass out. It could be a reflection of caffeine or of being a bit dehydrated, as well.

It's funny you posted this... yesterday mine showed I was working in the 110% range, so I would have been over 200 beats a minute. Weird it happened around the same time. I didn't feel weird, so I chalked it up to a fluke and kept working :)

No pains or light headedness at all. Just kind of freaked me out to see that number. I will keep an eye on it from now on though!

My HRM did that when it was broken I had to send it in to get a new one (it was still under warranty) If it keeps doing stuff like that you might want to have it checked.
