Who loves music?! I sure do :) and I’m sure all of us can confirm that listening to music while exercising encourages us to pull through to the end of our work out. My hope with this post is to share and trade some tunes for all of us to refresh and to create our perfect “working out playlist”. Please do not criticize each other’s musical tastes, to each their own!

So, when you work out, what gets you pumping harder? Running faster? Smiling bigger? Let me know!

Here are a few of mine:
David Guetta feat. Akon – Sexy *****
Black Eyed Peas – Rock That Body
LMFAO – Party Rock
Coldplay – Viva La Vida
DEVO – Whip It
INXS – Need You Tonight
The Cult – She Sells Sanctuary
…and many more!

I like "I will not Bow" by Breaking Benjamin and "Remember the Name" by Fort Minor. Also "Imma Be" by the Black eyed peas.

I have the album 100 #1 Dance Hits on my ipod, but I'm tired of it and looking for new ideas! Music really helps!

I have a Pandora station (Pandora.com) that I use called Lady Gaga Station. Basically, I started a station based on Lady Gaga and similar artists, and that is what I listen to  Usually the station pumps me up pretty well with Lady Gaga, Britney, Shakira, Rihanna, ect.

Sometimes, I even get a slower song by coincidence on my cool down

P.S. I use it on my Android phone through an App.
  • I usually put my Ipod on shuffle and I have tons of music on there.. Some that really get me moving are:

    Johnny Cash - Cocaine Blues
Buckcherry - Pretty much all their songs
Black Eyed Peas - Ima B (not sure how to spell it)
Jackyl - Alot of different songs

    And....

I have alot of 70's Disco on there.... I like the beat to work out to...

I have a bunch of playlists on my iPod, so I just pick one and go. Anything from Florence + The Machine to The Killers to older stuff like YES and INXS and Supertramp. There's no particular 'songs' that I listen to though. I do agree though, that music is a MUST when I'm working out!!! :)

I have a Baltimore club mix that I listen to every time I'm on the treadmill or out jogging. It has some LiL Jon in it so caution on a little language at times but the beats are infectious. It can be downloaded from http://www.mixcrate.com/mix/23442/Dj-Bee-Da-Block-Sessions-Vol-3-Baltimore-Club-Edition

When I'm strength training: stoking stuff like Eminmen, Fort Minor, heavier stuff
When I'm doing cardio: Top 40 & stuff that's been playing in the clubs. It motivates me to burn off this fat so I can feel sexy again.

Ok, I hit some key that either wiped out the list I was creating, or I'm going to end up repeating part of it in a redundant post, so my apologies if this duplicated!

Pittbull: Hey Baby (Drop it to the floor)
Enrique Iglesias: Tonight I'm Lovin' You
    Usher: More
Cascada: Every Time We Touch, Evacuate The Dancefloor
    Ace of Base: Beautiful Life
Christine Aguilera: Show Me How You Burlesque
    Paulina Rubio: Libre, Baila Casanova
Ricky Martin: Maria, Loaded, She Bangs
    Abba: Waterloo
La Bouche: SOS, Sweet Dreams, Be My Lover
Britney Spears: Circus, Womanizer, Me Against The Music
Shakira: Hips Don't Lie, Waka Waka, Objection (Tango)
    Rhianna: Pon de Replay
Lady Gaga: Just Dance, Bad Romance
    Beyonce/Lady Gaga: Telephone
    Travis Tritt: Bible Belt, Trouble
Charlie Daniels Band: Drinkin' My Baby Goodbye

And always good for either a cool-down or just a great song programmed in the middle when I know I'll be getting tired, need to catch my breath and get some inspiration to ramp it back up:

    Adam Lambert: No Boundaries
Heather Small: Proud (used to be the theme song to Biggest Loser)
    Christina Aguilera: Beautiful
    Avril Lavigne: Keep Holding On
