Weight Training?

Hey guys!
So I'm looking to start weight training and gaining some muscle on this flabby body! :tongue:
I'm new to this whole 'strength training' thing, and I can't afford a personal training sessions, so do you guys have any tips for some good exercises?
I know that you're supposed to lift heavy with little reps, but I'm not too sure what kind of exercises are the best.

    there are some 12 week programs on there that are pretty good to do. THey have links to the exercises on the programs if you don't know what they are.

    i'd reccommend a full body routine for a year or so. then you can look into more advanced routines and splits.
