Which would be better?

I'm trying to figure out what kind of work outs would be better for me. I'm doing Turbo Jam/Turbo Fire right now. My problem is that right at 20 minutes, I start getting exhausted, and it's really hard for me to continue my workout. In 20 minutes, I burn around 350 calories. Would it be more beneficial to me to do a solid 20 minutes of intense effort or 45-55 minutes of half effort?

    Neither.

45-55 minutes of intense effort.

Are you eating anything before your workout? Pre-hydrating?

Yes, I eat lunch before I work out, I drink pleanty of water, and I eat after my work outs.

I would say do both. Doing the same exercise day in and day out gets boring. MIxing it up can keep you from feeling like you want to skip the exercise altogether. Good luck!!

If it's a question of short-term intense workouts or long(ish) moderate workouts, I'd suggest the latter. You'll probably burn about as many calories, but you'll get a bigger cardiovascular boost out of it (because your heart rate is elevated for longer), and a longer post-workout metabolic boost.

The more you do it, the longer you'll be able to go at a more intense level. I don't know anything about the workouts you're doing now, but jogging/walking intervals really helped me when I started. They allowed me to get that intense feeling for a bit from the jogging, but also to last for 45 mins without feeling beat down. Make sense?

I would give it all I got, and then if I had to slow down a little, I would, but I would try to finish the workout.
