So, I'm supposed to be eating 1310 cals a day and lately it seems I just can't fit them all in without stuffing myself. lol. I'm not complaining though, I actually think it's kinda cool. I never thought I'd get to a point where at the end of the night I have to say to myself "another 200 calories!?!?! NOW what should I eat?"

I can't imagine how many calories I was consuming before, or even how I was able to eat that much in a day...I've been doing this for just under 2 months and have learned so much! I'm never hungry, I spend less at the grocery store, and I'm eating healthier! If I maintain my course I can easily hit my target weight within a year! If that's not enough motivation for me then nothing will ever be enough!
I    MFP!!!

HAHA! just saw my subject line said eat instead of eating....It's too early:grumble:

Try adding a little something to each meal. If you added a serving of fruit to each meal. Or try to switch one of your regular snacks with a snack with a little more calories. An Apple with some PB, a Banana with some milk, fruit and cheese.

  • are you still dropping weight? i have the same problem, eating healthy isnt a problem, i love my veggies, but with my weight this thing tells me to eat 2400 calories, i eat all day it seems like, and i am lucky to hit 1100 , i dont eat starch or fat, so i can eat like 18 hours a day and not hit that many calories, but i'm dropping about 4 pounds a day, according to all i'm reading i should have a few beers or something, but i'm not changing until my metabolism mellows out and i stop losing, then i'll pack on some more calories and increase excesize, are you losing weight and fat okay even being a little short on calories?

is there a medical reason why you're not eating starch or fat? Both are very important. 1100 calories is too low for a woman to go... a man should never ever drop below 1600, especially one your size. and 4 lbs a day is neither sustainable nor healthy.

I'm gonna be honest... I am concerned.
    4 lbs a DAY!
  • wowww..they only gave me 1200 cals/day and i was getting so frustrated becasue i could never get close to it because i was eating too mny calories!!! what kinds of foods are you eating that you cant get close to 1300?You do need some fat and carbs during the day so dont forget to take that into account too!

MFP set me at 1200 too, it was too low for me.
So, I set mine to AT LEAST my BMR 1500.
I have lost sooo much better since doing that.
  • heres a typical day, as you can see, i ate alot, a whole lot, i wind up getting some carbs, and a little fat , but i dont eat bread or red meat, fish and chicken only, and a cup of cheerios each day, nothing with sugar. i feel great , i eat ALOT, i cant see any reason to change this, i am eating healthy, and plenty,

    Breakfast
    General Mills - Cheerios , 1 cup 100 20 2 3 remove
    Bananas - Raw, 1 large (8" to 8-7/8" long) 121 31 0 1 remove
    Kroger - Skim Milk, 8 oz 80 12 0 8 remove

    Lunch
    Walmart - Catfish Filletts Farm Raised, 1 fillet (4 oz.) 80 0 2 15 remove
    Radishes - Raw, 2 cup slices 37 8 0 2 remove
    Cucumber - With peel, raw, 1 cup slices 16 4 0 1 remove
    Celery - Raw, 4 stalk, medium (7-1/2" - 8" long) 22 5 0 1 remove
    Walmart - Catfish Filletts Farm Raised, 1 fillet (4 oz.) 80 0 2 15 remove
    Tomatoes - Roma Tomato, 2 Tomato 70 14 2 2 remove

    Dinner
    Aquamar - Imitation Crab Meat Made With Alaska Pollock, 1 cup (85 g) 200 32 3 10 remove
    Green Onions - Raw, 1 cup, chopped 67 16 0 1 remove
Fresh - Avacado (Raw), 1 whole avacado

total 1130 calories, the day before was alot more veggies, no avacado, too much fat, and i was at 980 calories, i am eating almost constantly it seems like, i have just started this, for the 1st time in 12 years, so my metabolism is outrageous, the 4 pounds i think is normal per day for the 1st week considering i was practically living in casinos and consuming on average 3000 calories per day in alcohol alone before this, not to mention the food, i ate alot, and ate very well. i know the weight loss will taper soon, i just started monday morning

I gotta say your meals look great BUT you should try to incorporate snacks to get your numbers up. nuts are great high-cal snacks that are very heathy and they contain good fats (your body NEEDS fats for many things including brain function). You might also try yogurts, cheeses, etc for more fats. Crackers, peanut butter on toast, a bagel with cream cheese. Don't be so rigid, what is going to end up happening is all of a sudden you'll gorge on these foods you're missing out on. MFP has given you those calories, don't punish yourself by ignoring them.
  • yes i upped my cals to 1500 too..i was becoming too frustrated trying to hit 1200 each day because i was always going over even with exercise..I'm sure i'll lose weight slower this way but i need to ease into it

    We can lose slow together.
I was a monster with that few.

DonHawk: I am still concerned. Your meals do look wonderful, nice and healthy. Your body does need some fat though to function, a lot of hormones are made from fats. You are getting some carbs but don't short change your body on those either. But....it's your life and choice....Just know I am worried about ya.

I agree with Kerrilucko, don't short change your body the calories it needs. They give you those for a reason.

I have been told that you should have at least 6 meals a day. They should be small. I agree with kerrilucko about adding snacks. It will help you out better.

That's a good idea...I'll try that. A cup of milk alone would prolly do it.

For everyone that was asking, I am still losing...about 2-3 lbs a week. I tend to go over my fat and sugar intake a little, but I'm getting better at that.

I've been eating lots of fresh fruits and veggies (ok, maybe not LOTS of veggies:ohwell: ). I generally make a turkey sandwich on wheat with a bag of sunchips for lunch, and for dinner either a good homecooked chicken meal or a smart one's frozen dinner. I get plenty of protein even though I don't eat a lot of red meat.

I have noticed my energy level picking up even though I'm not exercising regularly...(I'll work on that when I start maintaining my weight)
