Not as good as the craving....

I don't normally neglect a craving, I usually adjust my calories throughout the day and excercise more so I can have that food without going overboard. For me if I ignore a craving I crave it 10x more. Although, it seems like the 'bad' food doesn't taste as good as it used to....anyone else notice this? Even McDonalds hamburgers doesn't taste the same.

Yes and no. Sweet things like chocolate always taste good. Things like fast food make me feel sick just being around it and smelling it.

I believe everything in moderation now and I agree sometimes what you are craving doesn't taste nearly as good as you remember lol. It's a mindset thing because we know that those foods just aren't worth it to blow our diets. I'm the same way, if I don't give in to the craving, it will just keep haunting me lol. Now if I want a hamburger, I fix it at home.....a lot less calories and healthier too:) The best of luck to you:)!!

I absolutely agree with you on this! I can have ice cream, chocolate, my favorite cookie. But just the smell of a McD's or a Long John Silver's makes my stomach turn!

i noticed that the other night when i ordered pizza. it didnt taste very good and it actually made me feel ill! def feel u on that. although chocolate DOES always taste good!
  • I give in to the cravings too but like you I'm finding they don't taste as good as I remember AND they are very rarely worth the amount of calories. I used to LOVE a Mt Dew at least once a day and now I take a sip of my hubby's and I'm good 170 calories for a drink totally NOT worth 20 min on the elliptical (unless I've been up all night with the baby and need the boost) :) Good luck fighting the cravings an not caving!

Totally agree. I'm proud that I have lost weight, but just as proud that there are so many unhealthy foods that I no llonger crave. Don't get me wrong, I still indulge here and there, but for the most part, I now crave the good stuff!

Yes. I will enjoy something more if I just decide to have it rather than if I think I crave it and eat it. It's just not the same now as it was before MFP. It's really amazing what we can learn to tolerate when we just don't care anymore. Also I think with giving up a lot of the crap and eating better it clears out our system and we can taste and smell better than before too.

I agree. A piece of cheesecake is always worth the craving. I don't even want fast food anymore, because I know I will just be disappointed!

I find the things I think I am craving really don't taste that great any more. I have no interest in ice cream these days. I do still crave chips, but they probably don't taste great either, I just haven't given in in a while, so I don't know. Chocolate tastes good in small amounts, but more than about an oz and I am not interested any more, and that has to be with peppermint tea to wash it down.
