HRM!! And my workout log book :)
  • I'm sort of random.

I cannot have a good workout without
    1.5 litres of water handy
    my iPod blaring obscenely loud
and a piece of minty gum.

The gum just keeps my energy up I guess.

IPod and Nike+ program!!! I almost cried when I thought I lost my IPod.

Oh and cute workout clothes. When I started working out it was all baggy and black. Now I need something that makes me feel pretty (even if my face turns bright red and my hair turns into a sweaty birds nest).

I am considering a Heart Rate Monitor but I am not sure what they are used for and which ones are good. I would like one that is waterproof as I like swimming and watersports. Any suggestions?

    My running shoes.

A headband to keep my bangs out of my eyes.

Technical workout clothes. I don't mind sweating, but I don't want to feel it! I go much longer if I'm comfortable.

    An excellent sports bra.
  • I could not live without my bowflex selecttech weights now, it makes all the difference in convenience and being able to lift more. I even scored a great deal on them on craigslist!

Feel free to "friend" me everyone for daily inspiration! ;) Colleen in Seattle

My iPhone with Runkeeper (http://runkeeper.com/user/secretkristoffer/profile) (and MFP). Started walking two months ago and the first day I walked 3km and had a really hard time doing it. Now I walk 10km four times a week, and Runkeeper made everything fun!

I know exactly how you feel I have to workout in my old navy yoga pants and a black wife beater... I have to look semi cute for some reason. It just motivates me. I dont go with my hair done and make-up but I at least need somthing flattering.. Ans the Ipod is a must there have been times I almost cried when I thought i lost it!! Esp bc I have playlists for my workouts!

Don't know if this will help you any but...........Here is a link that was posted in another thread with a lot of information on HRM's. Also, I would suggest getting one with a chest strap as they are better to calculate an accurate HR.

    http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/Azdak/view/the-real-facts-about-hrms-and-calories-what-you-need-to-know-before-purchasing-an-hrm-or-using-one-21472

I know a lot of people on here have the FT7 and say that they like it alot. It runs around $109.95 and if you find online coupon codes you may be able to save more off the price of the HRM.

I just purchased a Polar FT40 last week with free shipping and it arrived overnight from heartratemonitors dot com (I have used them in the past for my old hrm and a pedometer) and also found an $10.00 off total online code as well to help with the price of the HRM.......

The FT-40 has the Polar Fitness test which measures your aerobic fitness at rest and tells you your progress.

Currently I am in love love love with mika yoga wear! Mostly for hot yoga and the pole classes, but I also like walking around my husband in the shorts.

Oh and I go to pole and lap class with my hair blown out and water proof mascara on.

My iPod, my shoes, my sports bra.

I absolutely cannot exercise without music.

Since those last two things are already in my locker at the gym to begin with, I'm never at risk for having an uncomfortable workout. Haha.
