Ok, question for anyone who may know the answer... or not why is it that when you have not worked out for over 5 years and then you start up again. it feels as if your heart is about to explode out of your chest and you feel like you are about to suddenly going to die of a heart attack ???????

Because you have lost all of your previous fitness and have mistakenly tried to resume your former intensity. You may also be trying to move more bodyweight, which produces even more stress to your body-that's simple physics.
After 5 years, you are starting from scratch and really need to pace yourself to avoid injury!0 -
Agreed. You have to start slow.0

What about if you take a few months off for an injury ? When you go back it is like your first time.0

I wouldn't say that for only a few months, but you definitely shouldn't workout at your regular intensity level. I would just start somewhat slow and see how you feel. Listen to your body.0

if you have a long break you lose your cardio vascular fitness - it takes a while for your heart and lungs to get used to working that hard again. It's not a nice feeling...
but if you start gently and gradually build up the intensity and duration of your workouts you'll notice an improvement quickly
good luck!0
