I really want to lose weight. I really need to lose weight. I do well for a few weeks and then something pulls me off track. I feel bad about it and I want to do better. Any tips on what to do when you feel yourself going off track?

That's a good thing for me to think about. I lost my mom in December to diabetic complications and I had a baby in September. I want to be here for him. I don't want him to go through what I went through.

don't think of it as "off track". Life will always get in the way of your goals but its how you handle those distractions and "bad decisions" that make you stronger and healthier.
  • I so understand what you're going through. I do the same thing and as a matter of fact, I'm getting back on track again this week after 2 months "off track". One thing I'm trying to reminder myself is that each set back is really a set up for a comeback. I'm also trying to remember that I was made to crave God not food. I'm trying to spend more time in prayer with God and call on Him for the strength to choose the healthy options and to say no to the unhealthy ones.
I have to remember to take things one day and one meal at a time. One bad meal does not mean I should give up and throw in the towel and eat whatever junk I want for the next few months.
I'm a work in progress. I know how-to, I just need to work on my "want-to"
    God bless,
    Karen

You all are so right! I think when I get off track I get discouraged and disappointed with myself. I am not going to focus on what I have done, I am going to work on what I can do in the future!!! Today is a new day.
  • You're absolutely right, today is a new day!
