It's part of MFP's "plan" that you get to eat your exercise calories. I eat half because I'm not confident about the machines reporting, though I am sure of my food intake as I use a food scale for everything.

Oh an it IS asked on a daily... if not multiple times a day....basis. But the search function on here I find lacking, searching for it the results that come up first are 3 months old. Have to do an advanced search from... well I use google, and it is touched on regularly ;P

I have read different views on this, MFP says that you should eat back your calories however Jillian Michaels says that calories burnt during exercise will help you achieve a greater level of weight loss. Personally I don't eat the calories I burn off during exercise as I would rather see a bigger lose on the scales.

ditto! On really hungry days, I'll eat back a little bit of my exercise calories, but typically I try not to.

that works up to a point, for those whom do not eat them back they will reach a point where they plateau and not shed any more weight you see that day in and day out, yes you will see great weight loss initially but when they say do not eat them back they are usually on a sufficient calorie intake to provide for that whereas on mfp the give you an intake based on what you need with no exercise at all. So you can get away with it for a while but eventually you will hit the wall on it and then you will need to start eating them back for weight loss to progress. This works better for those whom have 40 or more pounds to lose, not so much for those whom have say 40 or less to lose.

My personal experience is to eat at least some of the exercise calories. When I didn't, I actually GAINED weight. It seems counter intuitive to eat more to lose but when I added in my exercise calories, I started losing again.
