Exercise routine reboot

Hi all, I've been so very sick for the last several weeks. Cold? Flu? Pneumonia? Don't know -- spent most of Monday at the doc seeing specialists and having tests done. I'm on antibiotics and Prednisone and feeling much better. I'm still not back 100% though. A flight of stairs wears me out and I have to stop and rest after every small task.
I'm DYING to get back to my exercise routine, and I was hoping to get some suggestions here! Even though I'm not physically able yet, I'd like to start planning my next line of attack. Before I got sick I was running about 15 miles a week and lifting weights at home a couple times a week. Now that it's getting dark earlier, I really can't run after work. Stuff I have at home: treadmill, elliptical, dumb bells, bench, ball, DVD player. I hate the treadmill and elliptical (boring!) but I'll do them if I really have to...gotta burn cals, still have 40+ lbs to lose. I know nothing about DVD workouts and there are so many to choose from... Suggestions are welcome!
Thanks

That's a damned good place to start from.
OP- There's a multitude of things out there to do, good on ya for wanting to change it up and try something else.0 -

Goals: lose 40lbs, continue exercise routine to keep up muscle definition & bone health, manage long-term depression, enjoy shopping for clothes, look and feel good about myself.
Enjoy: sweating, being strong (therefore feeling badass), beating the numbers (time, weight lifted, etc.), that post-workout glow
Loathe: same old same old day after day
Thanks for your input.0 -
*bump* I would still love some DVD suggestions! I want to break up the monotony of treadmill/elliptical/weights. Thanks!0

I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE TurboFire (cardio) and ChaLean Extreme (lifting). They are both from Beachbody, created by trainer, Chalene Johnson. Worth every penny.
Others I've tried:
Insanity - too rough on my body and I wasn't having fun - just dreading it.
Brazilian Butt Lift - a couple of great workouts but not great as a whole. Not worth the money.
30 Day Shred - Great and cheap. But I'd be very bored if this was all I had in my rotation. Only 3 workouts and they can get super monotonous.

Why not watch some Strength Camp open sessions on youtube, and copy?0

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll definitely look them up!0

Was looking for a thread for advice and found this. It's now heavy cold and flu season out here, and I have been down for a week. A real dilly!
A week ago tomorrow I went on strong antibiotics. Should I wait the ten days until they are out of my body before cardio?
I feel much better; the antibiotics helped because I had a sinus infection and a bunch of other things. I was extremely sick. But now that I am better, I want to use my Bit Gym subscription and ride my indoor bike "all over the world." (It uses gaming technology to speed up and slow down with you. It's fun!) I paid for it and promptly took ill. Bummer.
I would have to wait until Thursday for it to be all gone. Should I wait? I am paying for that subscription! And it's fun; I like it. I want to go up in in the Alps. Sorta.
But I don't want a relapse. Would you get all sweated up and raise your heart rate at this point? Or wait a few more days?
Getting anxious to ride!
Thanks

depends on the antibiotics and how you react to them.
I can do it on most antibiotics, but not on some.0
