There has been a lot of bad press about BPA (bisphenol A) and how the chemical is bad for us. With good reason – it’s been linked to cancer and reproductive problems, although no research has been conclusive.

BPA is an industrial chemical that has been used in certain plastics and resins since the 1960s, and the more recent negative publicity concerned the safety of its use in plastic water bottles and food containers.

Some jurisdictions have begun to restrict the use of the chemical in a variety of products from water bottles to baby toys, but it can be found in so many items, including some foods, food cans, bottle tops and water supply lines. Even some dental sealants and composites also may contain BPA.

I ain't skeered of BPA's, aspertame, gluten, or monsters under my bed. Life is far too short to get caught up in pseudo science hysteria. Seriously, I'm not sure Cheryl Crow really has the scientific credentials necessary to influence my eating/drinking habits.

Here's a fun link for you:

EDIT: I was just thinking...maybe the most dangerous item in the grocery stores is the beautiful packaging on all the desert items? Wow...frozen cheesecake sure looks good on the box.

The most dangerous thing in the grocery store is me when I'm shopping while hungry. Eat all the things!

^That. "Grocery shopping whilst hangry" should be a viable defense when the noodlebrain in front of you has grouped his items in six fourteen unit clusters in order to use the fifteen items or fewer checkout lane.

I really hope that guy dies. Slowly.
