High calorie recovery days.. How to deal?

I had a rather large calorie day for me yesterday. My breakfast today is half or less of my usual and I'm just not that hungry. I'm not going to force feed myself today just to hit my calorie intake.

My question is, when you go overboard the previous day and don't feel like eating the "proper" daily requirements, do you force yourself to eat it anyways to ensure you're "following the guidelines" of MFP or do you only eat what you FEEL like you should eat?

I have found some people get obsessed over the calories.. whether it's eating over or under, those numbers seem to have a strong hold on a ton of people on MFP!

If you have a big day one day and a low day the next they balance out for the most part.

I am currently doing a calorie cycling thing where I deliberately eat around 20% over MFP goal on a weightlifting day and then 20% under MFP goal on the following day. So it all averages out over the long run.

I go through this on occasion. The next day, I just make sure to hit my protein numbers and don't worry about the overall calorie count for the day. If that puts me 700 cal below, so be it.

As long as the week balances out, don't sweat it.
