ok, so i've been running for a while now. i've completed c25k, and am now trying to increase my times to build endurance (i'm doing a half marathon in oct).
my biggest issue now is, ummmmm, after i've been running for about 25-30 mins i always seem to need the loo. even if i've been before i left. and i'm always at least 3ks from home. the jolting nudges things loose!!!!!! so i either end up going in the bushes (but i run in the morning and it's all wet and acky) or i just have to walk slowly home, clenching along the way!
what do i do about this? do i eat at different times (as i run in the morning, so should i make lunch my biggest meal?), is there something i should or shouldn't be eating? i'm sure i can't be the only one..... what do i do? i'm willing to try anything, because if i cant get to 6ks i'm going to have problems doing 21!

Very VERY VERY common thing, google "the runner's runs" or "the runners trotts" I personally have to take immodium before a race.
Good luck!0 -
This happens to me, too, and alot of the other females in my platoon on morning runs--seems to be just us females breaking for the port-o-johns... If anyone knows why, or how to stop it, that would be great! Also, does this happen to guys? I've yet to see it...0

Yep, google - there is a ton of information out there, specifically how to change up your diet to reduce or eliminate the problem.

happens to me too. When I started running I was "sick" for days after. I have not figured out what to do about it. I have just learned to deal!! let me know if you learn any secrets.

I only run if something is chasing me. That's how I avoid this problem.0

haha! I'm the same way... but I do get the urge to use the toilet before I see my trainer. So maybe its not just running but personal trainers too!0 -

Change what you are eating before. Eat at least an hour before. Around mile 4 it always use to hit me. Don't eat as much fiber or coffee or bran or something that is known to hit you.
It's called "runners trot." If you google it there are a lot of other suggestions on what to do.0
