MFP and Fitbit Caloric Differences?

Hi! I recently synced my MFP and Fitbit account and my Fitbit account is showing me that I have burned more calories than on MFP. For example, on Wednesday, on MFP it shows me I have an EXTRA 250 calories, which is great, but on Fitbit it shows me that I have 330 calories extra. Which site is right? And why the discrepancy?

Thanks!

Their diet plans are not identical. Fitbit has no 1200 calorie floor, for example. I recommend pick one and go with it.

I try to get a 750 calorie deficit from my total burn on Fitbit, regardless of what MFP tells me I can eat. For example, yesterday MFP said I could eat about 200 more calories than Fitbit. (I did, only because it was a bad day, LOL.)
  • Thank you maidentl, can you tell me what your goal is or what that deficit is supposed to bring for you in relation to calories per day, etc. and weight loss?

They both need to be set the same eg both of my settings are sedentary and 1lb a week weight loss and they tend to synch quite closely

Mine are both set the same but are still off. Presumably because MFP won't go below 1200 calories? I don't know. I have them set for 1.5 pounds per week which should equate to a 750 calorie/day deficit. I aim to eat at 750 below my total on Fitbit which tends to be around 2150 if I've gotten in a workout and/or had a busy day, so that means I try to eat about 1400. If it's much lower, I still don't really go under 1400.
