Body Beast

I ordered Body Beast yesterday while watching an infomercial. I'm really excited. I'm wondering if anyone has done it and has had success losing weight. Can I actually lose weight and build muscle at the same time?

I just got Body Beast too, it was delivered last night, my actual rotation starts this coming Monday, but I just did Build- Chest/Tris! Great workout, and I look forward to really getting into the routine!

I wonder if there's a group check in for Body Beast? I'd love to join one if there is

I'm still working through some other programs but I did watch the infomercial when I was up before everyone else one morning last weekend. Of all the Beachbody programs, that's the only one I've been tempted to try. I don't want to shell out the money or get myself on some coach's contact list though. Let us know what you think!

You can't lose weight and build muscle at the same time, no. Whether muscle or fat the rules are the same. Adding to your body requires a surplus, subtracting from it requires a deficit. Additionally, I hope you have access to a LOT of weights. It's probably the most equipment intensive home workout program out there. You will need lots, and lots, of weights for the giant sets and drop sets.

Wow, this is so false, it hurts. Yes, if you are already a lean, low body fat, person, building muscle is potentially going to add weight (other factors may influence this, including diet).
On the other hand, if you have a higher body fat percentage, adding muscle may potentially burn that fat (assuming your eating at a deficit). Yes, I understand that muscle weighs more than fat by volume, but if you are eating at a deficit, your muscle is not going to replace that fat at a pound-for-pound rate.

Case in chief.......I am building muscle, doing strength training, and eating a slight caloric deficit, and I am losing weight.

I have it and love it. There is a FB page called Beastettes which is awesome and a FB page...don't know how old you are but it's Body Beast over 40. You will need to eat at a surplus during Phase 1, Build and Phase 2, Bulk but you cut on Phase 3, Beast. I have two more weeks of Phase 2 left, been eating at a surplus, put on a few pounds but my body composition is improving. I lost an inch in my waist. I am looking forward to the cut. But loving the results so far. Good luck to you if you decide to get it. It is one of the least expensive BeachBody programs out there.

Thanks. I think I will join the group. I'm 47, so I qualify for the group. According to Fedex.com, my Body Beast should be here tomorrow. I really don't want to gain any weight, so I am torn.

Are you really skinny, or do you have weight to lose? I've heard from some men who are doing it, so it is good to hear from a woman.

Just started my rotation this morning, when the alarm went off at 5AM this morning, I really, really didn't want to get up... but I knew that if I didn't, I wouldn't get my workout in this morning, and I'd already written it on my calendar. The fact that this is a commitment that I made to myself forced me to get out of bed and get the workout in. I'm so glad I did!

One thing I'm adding into my Lean Beast rotation, is that I'm adding a stretch segment on whichever part of the body I worked from my Lastics dvd. Today was Chest & Tris, so I did a good 5 minute stretch for the arms and chest.

I'm not going to follow the recommended food plan of Body Beast, as I have a lot of weight to lose (imo), and would definitely gain if I ate over 2k calories a day.
