I started dieting about two months ago and have lost about 23 lbs so far, but reality didn't set in till one day when I was on the treadmill. I was running my heart out for about 30 min and it said I used up 500 calories. When I got home I looked at a pizza box and noticed that 1 slice was 450 calories. I was shocked to say the least. From that day foreward I decided I would really try to watch what I ate. Anyways I have pushed myself to continue to work out. Would appreciate some friends thought to help me out.

I make my own pizza. That way I get to choose what I put on it. low fat cheese, olives, green and red bell peppers, chopped onions, olives. sauce isn't that many calories. I can actually eat two slices without overdoing it. Try it.
But, ya today I ran into the same problem. I haven't had Carls jr in forever. i was starving at lunch & got a six dollar burger. umm I didn't know it until I logged it in but, that thing is 890 calories. I won't be eating that again. now I have to drink a glass of ovaltine for dinner. darn.
add me, it's always good to diet with others doing the same thing. good luck
  • It's amazing how much work it takes to burn off what we eat.. Really makes you think before you eat!
  • Hello, I am new to the site. I heard about it from a cousin of mine and decide to take a look. This looks like what I've been wanting. Something to record everything without having to look it all up and write it down and add it all up. I was laid off from work 1 year and 3 months ago and have gained 25 pounds. That is what i want to lose. Wish me luck and the same to all of you. Oh.. I recently bought a bike which i am enjoying.

You have no idea how many times I've been tempted to order a deep dish veggie lately...but then I think about the calories and end up zapping a Lean Cuisine or eating a handful of nuts. It's not easy at all, but having MFP has helped me stay on track more often. Feel free to add me, it's fun meeting new people to encourage you to meet your goals.
