Weight training and weight loss calorie intake

I haven't worked out in a few months, but before I stopped I was mostly doing weight training (beginner) with no set diet plan. My intention is to start weight lifting again (3x a week, full body with a high protein diet), but I was wondering how many calories I should be eating for maintaining and building muscle, but losing fat.

According to this site (http://iifym.com/tdee-calculator/) with my weight of 150 lbs and height of 5'7 1/2" I have a BMR of 1464 and a TDEE of 2014. I'm not sure what to go with since I want to lose fat but build muscle.

Thanks for the help!

You can't build muscle and lose fat at the same time

If you're overweight concentrate on losing the fat and continue with the weights so then you can bulk and cut to gain muscle

You go with your tdee. So 2014. But it is just a calculator so it might not be spot on. War b your weight and adjust up/ down if you are losing/gaining. (when you start lifting you weight will initially go up from water retention to repair muscles)

This will be a very long process though! Someone new or back at lifting you can do both st the same time, but it will take months before you can see anything

It is possible, u must eat clean and healthy and not go overboard. You must consume protein and do 30-45 minutes of cardio daily! The trick is use weights heavy enough to force muscle growth. You cannot use the scale as a measuring tool, you must use measuring tape or skin caliper (I think that's what its called)...Just judge by the fit of your clothes. However, as the previous post stated, I would focus on weight loss, that way you can focus more on weight loss and use MFP's tools to monitor your progress. I am obessed with lifting wieghts since I started and can't see any other way. So if you have the patience, Lift, eat, sleep, repeat...throw away the scale and focus on making that your life and I guarantee your body will obey your commands. The question is are you willing to wait, be patient, committed to hard work and a sick work ethic. The journey is a tough one and not for the impatient. I am 277, I am slowly transforming and becoming a beast in the gym, with each passing week! I am in it for the long haul! Sooooo? Do you have what it takes?
