Low Carb Motivation - Low Carb Supporters only please

Hi All, I have just started my low carb lifestyle and have been in phase 1 for about a week. I was hoping some of you could share your success stories with me, especially how much you lost in Phase 1 and how long Phase 1 was for you. Any tips that kept you going would be very helpful too!

Hi, I have been on low carb for about 3 weeks now and have lost about 5 pounds. It was difficult to start with but the Atkins bars have been wonderful mid morning and afternoon on the way back from work. Main problems has been family - husband thinks that I may be killing myself and my mother in law constantly asks me around to eat with them - even though I have told them that at the moment I am watching my weight. Try flakseed, I baked muffins using the receipe on the Atkins website and the one with pumpkin seeds and sesame seeds is really good - I eat them in traffic on the way to work in the morning. On a two week break so now eating flakseed (cocoa and berry) in the morning with soya milk. Happy to support on your journey - need the support myself. Re how long to stay in phase 1 - its up to you. I plan to move to 25g and then 30g in the next couple of weeks. I am doing this by increasing my consumption of almonds - I love them!

I have been living the Low Carb way since January, and have lost 25 pounds....I want to lose 10 more by Christmas. I was advised by 3 separate reputable and conservative physicians that this way of eating is the best and healthiest way. I make the "breads" that I consume from low carb recipes and almond or coconut flour, use vegetables like zucchini to make pasta, check labels for sugar, and don't eat what I don't understand, ingredient wise. I am healthy, my blood numbers are terrific, I eat higher fat and my cholesterol is better than it's ever been. I also log my calories in MFP (and I feel more full on the same amount of calories, because I don't eat carbs that cause me to be hungry), and my exercise. I follow a number of LC groups on FaceBook to get new recipes and ideas. It is a journey, not a sprint...just keep plugging away, one day at a time!
