Smoothie Question!!!

I was wondering if I can make a smoothie in the morning and put it in a mason jar and drink it through out the day. I don't want to replace a meal just looking to add more veggies and fruit to my diet. How much nutrients will it loose and will the taste change. Thanks for any and all advice.

I suppose you could, but if it contains any frozen foods/ice that was blended, it will melt even if refrigerated. Make sure you refrigerate it because pulverized fruits will go rancid quickly. I do not know if it will degrade throughout the day.0

Hmmm, I have a feeling that wouldn't work too well but only based on my limited experience because I usually drink my smoothies quickly (yum!). However, a few times I sat down at the computer with my smoothie and got involved with reading mail or something and when I come back to my smoothie even 20 minutes later, the consistency has changed and not for the better. It's like the fiber started to clump, or something... the texture changes. Also, I freeze some or all of the fruits I use in smoothies and it's much better chilled than left to warm up to room temperature so it doesn't really work for me as a 'sipping' beverage.
Do you have a break or lunch room where you could make a smoothie for lunch? I use a Hamilton Beach Personal Blender ($15 at Amazon.com or Walmart). Doesn't take up much space and does a great job. That and frozen fruit and your in business!0 -

I make a fairly simple smoothie of equal parts water, kale, and mixed berries. At least with this particular smoothie, I don't have any trouble drinking it even after it's sat out in its mason jar for 8 or more hours.0
