so i weighed in on my digital scale yesterday at 282.4. it was a loss i was happy with it. my dad has an old scale no batteries just the dial thingy. it put me at 279, they are usually dead on accurate with each other(minus the point this or that) so i was just curious which i should trust more....hopefully its the lower one...lol

doesn't really matter as long as you keep using the same scale. Ive went in bed bath and beyond and weighed on 10 different scales and they ALL said something different

My regular dial scale always puts me at least 5 pounds above what my Wii Fit my says. I get on it for reference, but it's never accurate so I don't worry about what it says. I know my Wii Fit is consistent and is pretty close to doctor's scales, so that's what I trust.

The thing about the old school type scales is that they rely on the tension from springs. As the scale gets older the springs stretch out which will give you an inaccurate reading. They can also give you an inaccurate reading depending on where you stand on it or how you lean. I know that on mine, if I lean forward or backward the reading changes.
