Starting again

I used MFP for about a year and a half but I can't remember my old password and I don't have access to the email I used. I had lost 151lbs in a year and a half through diet and exercise and then maintained for a while but, sadly, I let myself slip back into old habits.

I have a history of binge eating and bulimia. While I haven't made myself through up or technically binged... I have been overeating and just not eating the right things. Something happened a few months ago and I've gained about 50lbs in the last 3 months. I was really depressed and not very motivated but the weight gain has me feeling depressed strictly about that. Soooo it needs to stop and I need to regain control of my eating and my life.

Long story short, I'm back.

Thanks. :) I'm just needing to lose about 65lbs or so again this time. I'm pretty bummed that I let myself get over 200 when I had promised myself I'd never see that again buuuuuut as long as I don't let it keep going it's not the end of the world.

lol One big thing is that I didn't keep any of my bigger clothes besides my largest pair of jeans. So I have sweatpants that fit right now and that's about it. I refuse to buy more clothes because I shouldn't get used to being this size again. Hopefully in a month or so I'll be able to wear some of my jeans again. I guess it helps that I work at home since I can wear whatever I want here.

Wow. You should focus on the fact that you lost 151 pounds. If you can do that, the 65 pounds should be a breeze! Good luck. Keep us updated.

How is your mood these days? Are you seeing someone to help that side of things so you can focus on your health and nutrition without all of lives little distractions?

I've been depressed but looking forward to results popping up again. It feels nice to be back to it today though. I don't have anyone to talk to although I'm sure it would help. My old therapist retired almost 2 years ago and I never looked for anyone else.

Yes that is what I would recommend. I am in a facebook challenge group, and there was an individual in there who was battling the same issue. He shared his story with us, but mentioned his weight loss didn't really take off until he had someone to talk too about the outside issues. Just trying to help! Keep up the good work!

It took me about a month to really get into it before but once I started seeing pounds come off I took off like a rocket. I'm hoping that happens again. Right now I'm feeling good about the choices I've made today and trying to remind myself that as long as I make the right choices today that I will feel better tomorrow and, in a few days, I will see the payoff begin to take form.

I'm just really depressed right now because I look down and see my skin is so tight. When I was this same weight about 2 years ago my skin was loose. In a way I'm wondering if the weight gain and then losing it again may cause me to have a little less extra skin than I did when I was at my goal weight before... because I have no extra skin now at all. Either way, I'm excited to see the results and to redo my transformation.

I'm also a re-starter, I lost 25 lb here a couple of years ago and then gained it allllll back. So sad!!! And I'm also trying VERY hard not to buy new clothes this time around so everyone at my new job thinks I only have 5 shirts. Please add me if you like :)
