Exercise database

Hello.
I have a Polar F4 HRM which is out of action at the moment - needs a battery. I'm also using a Garmin bike computer and Strava app for cycling.
I can't help but think the database is way to generous when calculating my calories earned.
The Garmin calories are off the scale - I'll gain £££ as opposed to losing them if I was to eat even half of them.
What are your thoughts?

They are all just estimates - mfp, the polar, the garmin, apps, websites, machines, etc... all just estimates. They'll be very close for some, way off for others.

Polar HRM has a chest strap, it and is pretty accurate once background calories are taken off. I agree with you about the others though, not worth the risk of using them.

How do you know it's accurate?
