Beverage questions

Is anyone on here that still has a beer or glass of wine, stayed in their calorie range and lost weight? I get home and have a beer or glass of red during the week and feel bloated as hell. Can you actually lose weight and still indulge in a nice cabernet?

    Yes, you just have to work those into your calories budget.

    Yep. I drank wine most nights while I was losing. I don't know that I could do that now (menopause) but did when I was in my 30s.

    Yeap, I go out with friends once a week and have a beer and still lose.

    Yes. I lost basically all my weight while continuing to drink. I did tamp down the number of craft / micro brews and tended more towards liquor and wine for some time, but I regularly imbibed and managed to lose at a rate with which I was happy. It can be a lot harder for a woman (typically lower calorie requirements than your average man) and harder for someone who isn't burning calories through some regular exercise (even walking) -- at least, harder while still meeting macro and micro nutrient needs -- but it can be done.

    As others said, you need to account for the calories and maintain a comfortable weekly deficit.

    I went from 135 to 98lbs (not healthy) while drinking diet soda with rum or vodka multiple times every night. Now @ 120 lbs I drink multiple craft beers every night and maintain, trying to lose, so trying to drink less.

    It doesn't help, especially when it leads to junk food but it is doable.
