Question for the ladies!

Options
So the past couple of days, I've been feeling more sluggish than usual. Just a little lower energy while doing my workout, and burning less, according to my heart rate monitor. It's also that time of the month. Does anyone else experience this? I'm hoping that's all it is, as I'm going on my fourth week of T25, and it's so discouraging!

I felt like that a while back. Started taking potassium on workout days ( recommended to me by a MFP member ) and then ended up changing my setting to up my calories. Went from sedentary no exercise to sedentary with 5x30 minutes a week. She checked my sodium levels too.

I don't experience that but I am hungrier it seems...I have my blood checked a lot (waiting on a test now) to check my iron levels (they go low then too high) but if you are having your cycle you could need some extra iron.

it's iron. Once we've had our cotton mice for more than 15 years, we pretty much know what to expect - cause that's like 200 periods.

But I still want to know even though it's a monthly event that is fairly predictable and there are 500 topics about it every week (if only there was a search function) *sigh*

Until AF decides to show up whenever the hell she pleases... every 2 weeks... wait for 5 months then show up with a vengeance. And that is why I have an appointment with a specialist at the end of the month. :|

I def experience, tho weirdly not every month. Some months barely any noticeable changes and other months I am so sluggish and tired it's all I can do to get myself working out. And then when I do I feel achier. Just power through I guess!

It's not iron. I take iron supplements (doctor's orders!) and have a cup of spinach every morning in my smoothie. I was anemic as a child, I definitely know what low iron feels like, and this isn't it. I'll just keep pushing through! I guess my body uses more energy during those days.

I have never seen this topic before; my guess "FEED THE UTERUS" "FEED IT" "DO IT" Okay, apologies for all the ladies I have offended, and your SO or hubby or whomever can just write a check to me for this advice. Send check to Apple Lover; PO Box 119, Appleton, Wisconsin. That is all. Good luck and I hope you find a solution otherwise we may see this post again in 28-32 days.

It's probably exactly that. Who wants to be doing exersize when AF shows her ugly face? I know I wouldn't. Just do what you feel comfortable with and don't be discouraged, you'll be back to your normal self as soon as its over x

Try to get more sleep and see if that helps. Otherwise, if your iron levels are fine, it could be psychological. You don't feel 100% so you're slacking in your workouts and burning less.

Maybe get your D3 levels checked. And B12. Also maybe you need to be eating more of your exercise calories back ... Take care :)

I have that every month. My run suffers and I am tired/ sluggish. Then it gets better around day 2 of TOM.

cotton mice and feeding the uterus?

wtf is going on in this thread????

try B12 or Vit D- those are two that tend to crop up a lot with energy/mood issues.

I generally feel tired for one or two days right before my period. During ovulation I usually have one strength training day when I am crazy weak. I read a Lyle McDonald article about this and he mentions in the comments that he has had training clients with similar issues.
